Find the corporate number, call that and ask for vice president of fraud. You will be put through immediately. Inform them that if they don't stop trying to enroll her, you will call the state insurance board and demand they be investigated. They will fix the problem immediately.

If you have to call the CEO's office to get the name and number of the vp, remember to ask the Exec Asst to the CEO for her name. Write her a letter thanking her for getting this resolved.

I think that it somehow it improves their marketing numbers. A little like free magazines improve circulation numbers. Plus, bulk mail I think is about .04/oz. One of the reasons the PO in such financial straights.

My mother supported a Native American school on the Pine Ridge reservation, and I receive donation requests in her name every year, which I fill out, in her name and continue to donate $200 every year.

That is my way of keeping her alive. It is much better than the 9 pieces of mail I get from insurance companies, medical supply companies, and those morons selling burial insurance.

This is why your mom's name appears on mail from insurance companies and the others. You keep sending donations in her name. The charity most likely sells off their mailing list names just like other organizations.

Just because it's a charity doesn't mean they aren't going to sell off your name.

My brother and father have the same name, so when telemarketers would call Dad more than once, we'd say "Sure, [John Doe] is here, hold on" and put my kid brother on the phone. Wouldn't help now because he's an adult, but when he was 5 it was funny.

I used to get a bunch of annoying calls from a certain bank trying to get me to switch to them for some reason. They were calling me about twice a week, even after I asked to be removed from their call list and that I wasn't interested. Finally I told them that because they kept calling me at home after I asked them not to, I not only wasn't switching banks, but I would never consider them as an option if I did decide to pick a different bank later, and would encourage my family and friends to avoid them as well. They never called me again.

When my aunt died, Mom had to work on her stuff. My aunt was giving her SS to charities while she was working at the church. Mom marked through the address and wrote 'deceased' on them and sent them back. I think it worked because my cousin does the checkbook and bills for my uncle since aunt D passed on (Mom was helping her out).

Now to get Mom to take a trip to Arkansas so she can visit my uncle...he is 71 and needs a good cook once in a while when not being attacked by grandkids and great-grandkids.

I have no explanation for dumb customer service reps.. but can you imagine trying to collect on a policy from an insurance company that hires people that dumb?..

Which is precisely why they were hired, if you think about it.

that's why you look into the companies you are considering buying insurance from before you do that and see what customer reviews/ratings say on how claims were handled.. and then try to pick the best of the lot .. and imo, the more advertising an insurance corp does, the bigger the red flag!
