Status: offline 		i only use pods at this point, and only have a tiny garden, but it's not much more work to open and save the grounds than it is to throw them away.

speaking of tiny gardens, i live in a converted garage -> granny flat, it has an outside door in my bedroom, and i have a plant that has managed to grow under the door and up into my room. i'm calling it my pet triffid. my daughter says if she comes down to find me killed, or engaged in tentacle sex she's going to just walk out in disgust fralkly anything with that much determination to come inside i'll just keep an eye on. and maybe feed coffee grounds

Status: offline 		I'm moving around for work at the moment, so I to am also living in a garage/granny flat!
I miss my house! But I've done this up reasonably nice, everyone that's visited says how cool it is, but I really am getting a bit tired of not having my own shower or toilet...
Anyway there is an undercover area out the back with one of those "inside invading" plants to!

Amazing how much it grows with no direct sunlight.

I might be gardening quite a bit this year... I will come back here to update if that ends up happening.

Status: offline 		I had my neighbor cut down a tree that was leaning against a shed. After he got it down and was working on the limbs so I can put them in a burn pile (weenie roast anyone?), we discovered a flowering tree, can't tell if it is a lilac or a red bud. I can't wait for Mom to see it!

I ended up hurting all day yesterday...Tramadol and flexeril with the back brace. Someone call the chiropractor and my pain management doc...

Pretty, but seems like kind of a waste of container space (although not horizontal space)

I'm more put off by the boring shape and colour, than what it's actually made of.

Status: offline 		I'm with you. I like my pots to be as visually interesting as the plant, without distracting from the plant.
The pics above are a perfect examples of what I like. Simple and attractive.

There are LOADS of pics of some of my plants. and cats. and travels.

As far as the plants, the majority are of my spiderwort, because it catches morning dew so nicely :)

Status: offline 		I could live with that pot. I need to consider planting bulbs in pots.

My head is going crazy with all the things I want to plant. We have so much space here.
I've decided that while our original plan was to rip out the prior owners fenced-in veggie garden, I cannot bring myself do it. At least, not this year.
Though I've had awful luck in the past, I'm going to try hard this year and recruit the kids to plant as many fruits, veggies, and flowers as I can. Since the weather apparently wants to remain frigid, I have time to read up on tips. Mostly pest control.

Status: offline 		Bad news...yesterday, I was looking out the front deck door and saw several red wasps flying around. Looking closely, I see an eave open and the wasps coming in and out of it. When Mom comes home tomorrow, we are spraying.

I did a burn (leaves) Thursday in a spot between the driveways. If my brother can bring the tiller over and get the ground and ashes mixed together, I can plant pole beans there (doctor did say eat lots of green beans).

RED wasps??? Seriously, red???

Over here we seem to have a normal wasp net on our roof, too....cause when we dare to leave the roof window a slit open in our bathroom, we have at least one in the bathroom...more likely 2-3....recently one came in my way whilst I was cleaning the litter box....seems, one of my cat had burried it underneath...well....I then sent it right down the toilet

We are just moving into an awesome house in 2 weeks time with a huge garden and so I - unexpectledly - can also do gardening again this year

I already bought 13 tomato plants (red and yellow ones in their different shapes and sizes they come), 2 pepper plants, 2 or 3 gurken (to have my own glassed gurken again, as I already did 2 years ago ) as well as 2 courgettes...

I will buy more but decided to stop for now so that Frank also gets a chance to chose and pick

Though I forgot, I also got 2 "exotes" for me.....1 "black" tomato plant (anyone ever had that one?) and one which is called "Tomatillos Duo (Physalis ixocarpa)" no real idea how to use it, but happy to try it out

We will also do a bean tent, so that my cats have a tent to go in, on top of growing beans

Gosh, I sooooooooo can't wait to get started

We also want to plant 2-3 trees

Status: offline 		Translation - gherkins are known as cukes in the States, and courgettes are summer squash.

Black tomatoes are common among heirloom types, and tomatillo is common over here. AFAIK, the main use is in green salsas and chilies.

Status: offline 		Courgettes are also called zucchini. You can find lots of recipes by searching under that name. Personally though I prefer eating the blossoms.

I like it! that would be good for those invasive type plants that you shouldnt put in your garden, like mints, bee balm, etc.. You can make less levels also too.
