Not even remotely. Nobody in the UK gives a flying one about American Independence. It's utterly irrelevant to us. Most people don't even know the history of American independence, never mind care about it.

Still can't read can you, I said Hispanics complaining about an America flag symbol in the U S
would be like an American in England complaining about A Union Jack symbol.

Any other time, it is the Union Flag. Either way, I think there are very few Brits (and I was born one) who would really give a rat's ass what was said about that rag on a stick.

Please point out where I said anything about British reaction.
I was talking about how tacky it would be for AMERICANS in England to get upset about it.
And it was an English citizen who injected the term Union Jack into this conversation so go whine to them
about usage.

Okay let me see if I have this straight, Hispanics can where the Flag of Mexico to school but American kids cant wear the US flag because it might cause a fucking incident?

First of all, Cinco De Mayo isnt a fucking US holiday, has nothing to do with the US, and honestly, if you want to celebrate it, may I suggest you haul your ass back to Mexico?

I have a better idea. Instead of Americans bending over backwards to keep the Hispanics happy on their holidays, how bout we ban anything featuring the flag of Mexico from our schools permanently?

This is the United States, not North Mexico.


JLF, the American flag is politically incorrect. It connotes essential racial implications (by subsumation).

We MUST focus on other people's concerns because they come from places that deserve respect. The baseball team: Washington Redskins are a PURE example of our inherent racism.

We should learn their language. It should be obvious....foreigners are the fastest growing group (I think we're just not fucking enough).

Get with the program JLF.

Ok, dusting off my old Navy hat.

The "jack" is the pennon flown from the forward staff on a ship and is known as the "jackstaff".
The "flag" or "ensign" is flown from the back.

The U.S. Flag is flown aft.

British naval flags get more complicated.

The "Union Jack" is flown at the front.

I have often thought you didn't have a clue about this country and now I know it's a fact. But yes you two are right. If this thread hadn't been going on, I am sure many of those kids would have had hot meals last night. I don't know how people are going to sleep tonight knowing they cause so much suffering.
