julia,

Thnaks for your thoughts. You seem to equate trust as a large part of love.

Is it really? Can we not trust someone with loving them?

submotive,

Some good thoughts here, but it appears that you have used an extreme for a justification when you suggest someone would not matter to you.

Is there not the possibility of deep caring without the complex emotion of love?

You seem to hit the nail on the head and with only one swing!

Caretakr,

Now what is it that I said that would lead you to believe that Iwas attempting to be you.

My dance card stays fairly full.

The only time i think love is bad is when it becomes obessive. When reasonable thought and action cease because one is blinded by need or desire for the other. When jealousy and possessiveness of the other becomes the sole focus for them.

If you let everything else in you life fade to the background because you are so totally obsessed with another I don't think that is a healthy love. Loving someone should enhance all aspects of your life. Not hinder all aspects but the one you think you love.

Obsessive love, i believe put the one you love so much in a very large state of power over you. So for example if a Master is obbsessed with his slave, who really is in control?

I think in any relationship there should be a degree of love and caring for the other or others. I for one tend to err on the side of caution and hold back. That may change if i ever meet someone i feel i can trust with my whole heart, but i know if i ever thought i was going to become obessed with another i would pull back and walk away. But that's just me.

DD,

Well I asked all to ponder it before firing off a response and clearly you did so.

I will mark you down on the No side of the tally.

Great post.
