Did I miss something ? He was told his ID was fake and he couldn't afford to buy such an expensive item ? Where was the packaging and his receipt ? This is pure racial profiling...shopping while black. Marcus Allen, NFL hall of fame running back was stopped regularly by LA police for driving his Ferrari. Blacks are stopped regularly on I-95 suspected of being drug runners. Apparently...the list goes on.

They were only searching through black people's bags. A lady on the bus noticed this as well and asked "Why are they only searching through the black people's bags?"

One thing to consider; crime is more of a cultural factor than a race factor. Poverty seems to cause petty criminality to flourish and breeds a mindset where theft is considered acceptable. In some areas that may be predominately black ethnics. Other areas may have high crime by people of Hispanic heritage. Decades ago the same complaint was levied against "[Ethic slur for Irish]" and "[Ethic slur for Italian]" (derogatory terms used to make the point). An occurrence from the 1970s to illustrate the type of cultural mindset that drives the labeling of an ethnic group as prone to criminality: Many moons ago, there was an associate at a well known electronics outlet (associate, what they called their counter clerks) that spotted a teenager grabbing a stereo receiver off a stack and running out the front door. The clerk yelled out to the manager and ran after the thief. The clerk tackled the offender in the parking lot with the mall security just clearing the doors far behind. The thief suffered "road rash" to the face, knee, and arm. At the arraignment; the mother of the perpetrator of the theft screamed at the judge "He had no call to hurt my boy. He was only stealin'" ~ mod edit to replace ethnic slurs

Which ethnic groups currently are in the majority among the poor? Poverty sows crime. I still have this niggling suspicion that the preponderance of one ethnic group being incarcerated has more to do with the ethnic makeup of those in poverty than an overt attempt at racial discrimination. Are you looking at a pattern of racial discrimination or a cultural meme that tends to anti social behavior? I've noted over the years that race has little to do with thug attitude. The ghetto gangbanger and the redneck klansman really sound a lot alike when you get rid of the racial specific epithets. It is a unpalatable fact that the people in the front lines, seeing a majority of perpetrators of crimes being of one ethnic group, start seeing every person with a congenital suntan to be a potential criminal to be watched closely.

I have flown like maybe 7 times in my life. Most before they got more strict due to 9/11. I am white, blond, blue eyed, tall, dress pretty average....don't stand out to much other then height, and all but one time.........THEY WENT THRU ALL MY LUGGAGE at the airports. I must look like a serious smuggler or something. LOL. NO joke, Id watch people go right ahead, and me they pick to stand to the side to have my stuff gone through. I must have looked suspicious[:D]

By your definition everyone who was the president was inexperienced or had no pertinent education. A lot of presidents were formally senators (Nixon, Obama, JFK), and other presidents did other jobs. Just because they were never POTUS before their election doesn't mean they don't have a pertinent education or experience needed to be president.

I looked in the Huffington Post for a White Voices section but I couldn't find one. Sounds a little racist to me. I am always skeptical about the race card being played because whites do not have a race card to play. That too sounds racist to me. We have a black president for fuck's sake. This subject is tough to comment on and not seem racist. In my town I am privy to arrest statistics. Well over 70 percent of all crime is committed by African Americans. They make up about 8 percent of our towns population. So... you are a police officer well aware of what areas of town are affluent and the racial makeup of the areas. What do you do if at 3 in the morning you see a vehicle with African Americans slowly cruising an area where none live? In my town they pull them over and ask what they are doing... Is this racial or responsible policing? I say responsible policing. BUT... there are reasons for the higher crime among blacks and if the same circumstances were to be prevalent in a white neighborhood there would be the same crime rate as with blacks. So the bottom line there is still much discrimination, although getting better, and this still leads to higher crime rate. But I cannot blame the police for doing their job... They are there only to enforce the law which protects us not to change society... That is for US. Butch
