I found I can't do anything more complicated than pour hot water in a French press before I have my coffee. (I have parted company with several electric pots and finally given into the inevitable after cleaning up mess after mess after broken pot after spilled grinds... I've been known to put my mayo next to my my evaporated milk in the fridge door. I no longer keep mayo in my house.

I'm thankful my coffee comes from a Keurig. Otherwise, I don't think I'd be able to make coffee without first having coffee.

That's why I always save at least a half-cup from the day before so I can nuke it while I'm waiting for the kettle to boil. I use an old drip coffepot that's been in my family since the fifties, and generally make two pots a day (it's pretty small). While some may cringe at day-old coffee, I like to think of myself as hard-core in that area.

I have a programmable coffee pot.

There is one available that is tied into the home automation systems. As soon as a sensor picks up movement in your bedroom, it sends a signal to turn on the coffee pot.

Something like that.

Anything automated and controlled somehow by the house creeps me out. Maybe too many scary movies.
But, seriously, how does it know you're getting up and not doing something else?

You think that creeps you out, wait until I release my army of terminator cyborgs with Andy Dick's personality and sense of humor.

Say good morning.

Kiss that vanilla dude lying next to me. He thinks bad breathe kisses are funny.

Make breakfast or brunch. Yes I am the main Chef in the house but be real cook before coffee. Hell to the no!

Wish I had looked here years ago, you folks in random are hilarious.
