3) Litter - the UK is covered in it.

Don't think I'm turning yank on you though, my company just asked me to stay for another two years after this term is served and were told very clearly ........NO.

Meatclever, youv'e picked onsomething most people don't know about as Netherlands stands for dope, red light district, tulips and canals.................

Didn't they just kick out that poor muslim woman whose been fighting for muslim rights, and when the plane crashed at Amerstam didn't it land in flats full of poor imigrant workers who were segregated and ostricised, and don't the football gangs now rate higher in the racist stakes than Millwall supporters. O yes and there was the peadophile ring which truened out to be ingrained in the village & local police structure (or was that Belgium) .... youv'e tralled enough to know that there are problems with all countries systems, .........the UK one has been comparatively stable for 300 years....compared with say...France "revolution"......Germany....twice......Italy....el Fascio......Spain .......wot was that dicator called........

I think you'll find the Dutch democratic system has got a record as good as Englands, except for when Napleon and Hitler was here.

The poor muslim woman you are talking about who became an MP here and then a minister lied about her status when she applied for nationality AND AS A MINISTER WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEPORTING IMMIGRANTS THAT WERE MORE HONEST THAN HER. If the Dutch have little sympathy for her it is because SHE WAS A COMPLETE AND UTTER HYPOCRITE!! The US is welcome to her rightwing ideas.

The flat that the Israeli plane crashed into was condemned at the time and EL AL just put the job forward. Most of the people in the flats were refusing to move out!

The paedophile ring was in Belgium. Belgium being a typical bi-lingual country where one half of the country doesn't talk to the other but since Britain was one of the intrumental powers in setting up that country, we know where to look for the blame.

There has been problems with football supporters who have copied English fans.

Oh and any legal resident here of any nationality can vote in municipal elections. Not so in Britain.

Cheers level that was bgging me. "Do you miss home" ....... more a case of I've got 12 months left anyway and whilst its good and interesting experience I'm just not "confortable". One of the reasons for the original "what influences world opinion about the US" is beacuse I can't make my mind up about it...... anyway sssh don't tell anyone but I quite like the UK ...... for all the fact it ISN'T the BEST...... to coin a phrase favoured by some people LOL.

TO ALL - I recomend a book - "Watching the English" by Kate Fox - if your English you'l chuckle about the things listed because you know their stupid but you recognise that you do them - if your not English it really does explain why working with us can be a real pain in the ass .............

.....one of the experiemnts they did was to deliberately bump into people on the tube......and nearly alwys the person they knocked into appologiesed.........and there the meeting about money where 30 mins in and three cups of tea later the English finally mentioned the terrible word....money......

True though.

It was Everton fans and then Spurs fans that tried to burn down Feyenoord Stadium before there was any fan trouble here and the Dutch fans have yet to emulate Everton and Spurs fans in trying to burn down a stadium.

meatclever your really touchy this evening............or is it 3am where you are????? From what I read she didn't seem to have no support - didn't political parties clash over this?????

Hardly right wing if you are placed under death threats............. o yes and what about the dead guy killed for political beliefs ............the bold one (I really am being very exact today ....... :) ). I remebre doing a due diligence report on a Dutch business, the contamination of the water survey was fantastic...do you realise what your drinking............ thats why they all drink beer and play more darts than the UK. And Amsterdam train station was my first ever experience with beggers and druggies - broad daylight 15 years ago - very friendly. Flower Market was nice though. .................take a deep breath before you reply.......I'm going for a beer............talk in a weeks time.....

I actually have a romantic attachment to Britain but I thought with all the stick we had given our American friends then Britain deserved some too.

I think one of the major differences is that we all enjoy giving Britain stick and that very few Brits would stand up and take "the bait" as readily as our US friends do..... there is a certain taking ones self to seriously nature to the US which I find less in the Brits....but there are exceptions.

You'll just have to repeat the this experiment, every other week for a year, to see how it works out long term. The first couple times it was entertaining, 20th time get old. That is all.
