And ten times as many will drown in swimming pools.
Do you want to do something about deaths or are they alright as long as a gun isn't involved?
By your reasoning we have to take into account that thousands will be killed by their pet
dogs if you add up enough years.

Responsible parents with pools and dogs do take precautions. And certainly the pool industry doesn't spend its money trying to keep parents from doing so.

The gun industry sell locks and safes. Virtually ever new firearm comes with a booklet on gun safety
so once again you come up with a stupid analogy when while not stating it implies a lie.
In still remains that ten times as many kids drown as get shot, a fact that doesn't seem to sink in..
I'd call you an idiot but I don't want to inflate your intelligence.

The CDC proves it is isn't anywhere near 1 in 1,000,000  liar. You trier to exclude 15 to 18 year olds and you're still trying to make an annual rate into a lifetime chance.

Now now, Ken. You're making shit up again. The 2010 CDC data on firearms deaths among children is exactly what I said it was. The tables are clearly labeled. The CDC does not consider youths aged 15-19 to be "children". To include that data in the total and misrepresent it as reflecting unintentional firearm deaths among "children" would be lying. You know, like you are.

What a crappy article. I wanted to know two things.

1. How does it work? Saying some drivel about a RF stopwatch doesn't adequately describe it.
2. What are the grounds that the gun fans don't like this gun for?

Funny thing about that liar.

The CDC calls 15 to 18 year olds youth which is simply a synonym for child.

So including that data is correct. Excluding it is incorrect and you remain a lying sack of shit.

With this incarnation the gun will not fire unless the hand holding the weapon has a "watch"
on that wrist sending out an enabling signal.
I will not presume to speak for everyone but for starters I don't have any faith in the technology.
Second I oppose it being made mandatory, particularly at this early stage of development.
The main effect of this, as I see it, would be to to make firearms too expensive for all but the
wealthy.

Has anyone anywhere tried to make it mandatory? NO! Your paranoia is showing.

Kcsub brought up the question of making it mandatory, not me.
In fact while you must not realize it, but you jumped in on the response to his claim that
making it mandatory would save thousands of lives.

So you don't understand synonyms either. I shouldn't be surprised. But one would think it might have occurred to even the meanest intellect that if the CDC considered the words "children" and "youth" to be interchangeable, they wouldn't have presented the data for those groups in separate tables.

Synonyms are words that may mean the same thing, but they may also be words that just mean something close, and while they may be interchangeable in some contexts, they are manifestly not in others. The words in list of synonyms almost never all mean exactly the same thing. See how that works?

a person between birth and puberty ~Houghton-Mifflin
a boy or girl between birth and puberty ~Collins
a young person from the time they are born until they are about 14 years old ~MacMillan
a young person especially between infancy and youth ~Merriam-Webster

So how about taking a nap now? You must be tired from all this tough intellectual work. And if nothing else, maybe you'll wake up with some new names to call all those rude nasty people who disturb your peace by shooting holes in the shit-for-brains claims you post. Wouldn't a little variety be nice?

Give it up dumbass. I started out taking 18 and under and you accepted that definition. You didn't contest it at all.

Well you're right there. The "Who is a child?" question came up later. Initially, I was only contesting your wild claim that "thousands" were dying. I didn't realize you were counting every accidental death of anyone aged 18 or under since Sam Colt picked up his first screwdriver.

From Fox

Gun rights advocates worry that the firearm's availability will give a boost to a New Jersey law mandating that all handguns in the state be personalized within three years of a smart gun going on sale anywhere in the U.S.

CNN says the same thing so I guess it is someone's ignorance showing and not my paranoia

On question 2 it's what Bama said and a crap load of other stuff. If ya read the whole thread you'll pretty much get a complete perspective on why gun fans (most of them I would presume), don't like this gun or any other gun equipped with the same technogy.
