Phydeaux -> interesting post on the politics of alarmists. (5/6/2014 2:19:38 PM)

The section about the vilification of people that disagree with this certainly rings true

Yeah it is a nutsacker hysteria site, and they are always vilifying the people with facts, since they are in possession of only hallucination.

I wouldn't worry about it.

It's obvious Nigel Lawson is a racist. [8|]

Obviously Phydeaux didnt read about the recent US report on climate change.

As for Lawsons credibility.

MercTech -> RE: interesting post on the politics of alarmists. (5/7/2014 7:14:48 AM)

I like the phrase "climate change alarmists". There have certainly been enough people trying to peddle fear over climate change to make a buck.

Global warming is a fact.
It is also a fact that cities won't be flooded as the oceans rise. I doubt there will be kudzu in Canada but it may make it to Ohio. <grin>

Perhaps kudzu has a use as a biofuel?

Could the starchy roots be used as food?

Bring it on! lol

It's dwarfed by the number of people trying to blow away the alarm so that they can carry on making their bucks, though. The climate change complacency-peddlers are a great deal more dangerous to us than the alarmists, I think.

Lawson is one of those Tory aristocrats you get here in England, DS. Knowledge, qualifications, expertise ... they're as nothing. He was 'born to lead because of his bloodline'.

'600 page litany of doom': Weather Channel Co-Founder John Coleman slams Federal climate report: A ‘total distortion of the data and agenda driven, destructive episode of bad science gone berserk’

Coleman: 'When the temperature data could no longer be bent to support global warming, they switched to climate change and now blame every weather and climate event on CO2 despite the hard, cold fact that the “radiative forcing” theory they built their claims on has totally failed to verify.'

'The current bad science is all based on a theory that the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from the exhaust of the burning of fossil fuels leads to a dramatic increase in “the greenhouse effect” causing temperatures to skyrocket uncontrollably. This theory has failed to verify and is obviously dead wrong. But the politically funded and agenda driven scientists who have built their careers on this theory and live well on the 2.6 billion dollars of year of Federal grants for global warming/climate change research cling to this theory and bend the data spread to support the glorified claims in their reports and papers.'

From a fuckin weatherman on TV? Please say nobody is stupid enough to quote that.

News Flash Yachtie! Weather is not climate. I know intelligence isn't really important to you, but you really might want to know you're science before you...you know...debate science [8|]

Yes. It is used as a food starch in Japan like corn starch is here. You can even eat the leaves if they are cooked. The Georgia Extension Service used to publish a pamphlet on things to do with kudzu before it ate your house. If you start seeing kudzu I recommend kerosene and lots of it.

It is good food for pigs. Hogs will tear down a fence trying to get to kudzu.

But the closest human edible variant of kudzu is a well known cousin... wasabi.

For a response to the deniers: today's bit on Public Radio about how currently 70% of national defense establishments world wide are in the midst of preparing or already have plans to deal with the manifold economic, political and military consequences of climate change and the expected clashes over it's diminishing of resources and food and water insecurity and the expected population increase. The 30% making up the other countries are Third World countries buried in more immediate problems of simply trying to exist. When National Defense staffs world wide are planning for expected crisis and conflict, the bleetings of those so frightened of what we are doing to the planet they deny the obvious, or need to continue abusive profitable practices, look remarkably out of touch. Yup, another Liberal conspiracy of all those bleeding heart military professionals?
I'm not aware of any professional of any field who actually READS climate change original research papers who has the slightest doubt we are at the beginning of the biggest challenge civilized Man has faced.

Sorry, PFH, you're just not American enough to understand. Lawson doesn't agree with the Liberals and Obama, so it's obvious he's a racist.

The people who run NYC certainly don't believe this for a second. Plans to prevent sea level rise damage to the 5 boroughs at any affordable public expense are turning out to be impossible with present technology. OK, most cities won't be flooded, just all their low areas! Which makes quite a few pretty much uninhabitable. For instance, Bangaladesh basically disappears, as do many river delta cities, a quite popular choice through the centuries.
Any chance you can explain how any given sea level rise will flood everywhere else but not cities? a LOT of people live really close to sea level. Not just New Orleans is at risk, present projections of conservative sea level rises have a huge portion of the planet's humans forceably relocated. To complicate it all, a hell of a lot of food producing acreage goes under water too or is salt poisoned to uselessness. This really isn't going to be all that much fun.

Lawson is just a fat British Tory aristocrat toad, DS. It doesn't matter what he agrees with or disagrees with. He's a pointless parasite with no authority on the subject. It's a safe bet that you can ignore the opinion of most people with the word 'Lord' before their name. Most Brits do.

Actually there are two great ways of controlling kudzu.

1. Goats.
2. They have a virus they spray that kills it dead.

Snicker. I have read well north of 2000 climate papers. And there are hundreds of papers that disagree with the IPCC theory of global warming.

Hell for that matter the IPCC's data doesn't agree with their theory either.

So, I suggest you read CERN's experiments on aerosol formation especially the endpapers (which are hard to find) and then Svenmark's research on ionizing radiation and cloud formation.

Both are completely devestating to the IPCC model.
