When a person smokes, it affects others, my hair stinks, their breath stinks when they speak to me, and of course, secondary effects of smoking. When I was with my x-dom, he was a 2 pack a day smoker, and even though he tried to be as considerate as possible not to smoke infront of me, but I got very sick being with him, I was always down with something, my nose gets irritated, my eyes get irritated, I keep getting sore throat, sinuses, I don't know, I've never been so sick in my life. Ever since I broke up with him, being not exposed to cigarette residue anymore, I never get sick, and before I dated him, I've always dated non-smokers and I never get sick. So to me, that is not a lifestyle that does not affect the ones you love.

I think you have reading comprehension problem if that's your interpretation. My conclusion from the whole thing is that, many are into different body types. But majority prefer slimmer figures. So if you are on the bigger end of the scale, you have limited your pool of potentials.

My friends dad ridiculed her weight always and guess what she stuffed cake in her mouth. Ridicule is not healthy not productive. For the record I am almost 6 foot tall size 12 and have waist. I could benefit from more exercise of course! But if I want a donut I am going to eat that donut or three! Lol. I am just not going to do it everyday. Making people feel bad about themselves in regards to appearance is bologna.

I was fortunate. I had a father who told me I was beautiful special and his favorite. But he also told my two sisters the same thing! One year my step mom bought us matching tshirt so that said " I'm dad's favorite"[:D] It does make a difference. I think if we had been so ugly or heavy he had to tie a pork chop around our neck to get the dog to play with us, he still would have said we were beautiful. The point is everyone wants to be accepted for who they are. Sometimes once they are accepted big changes occur, such as caring about ones self more.

Chinese moms are usually the worst. They break down in tears if they think their daughter is turning fat, and goes into a meltdown, like it's the end of the world and start starving you. My mom sent me for those slimming treatments when I was 12, and I was at the end spectrum of a healthy BMI. My poor friend's daugther, she's only 8, but she's dutch in a local school here, and her chinese teacher actually took her mom aside and told her, her daughter is getting unhealthily over weight. Again, my friend's daughter is bigger than Asian girls, but in healthy weight, I mean, she is not even in the overweight category. Of course my friend was outrage when the teacher suggested she puts her daughter on a diet. There is alot of pressure in school and at home to stay a certain size.

That's... That exactly what an increased metabolism means. If your metabolism is increased, than you require more calories. You eating 5000 calories a day... You don't NEED that if your BMR requires 1600. You are just eating too much. Has nothing to do with metabolism. If calories in > calories out, then weight is gained, at roughly 3,000 calories a pound. If calories in < calories out! then weight is lost. You aren't breaking the rules of thermodynamics, you just eat too much.

So the further away from your metabolic rate you can eat, the healthier you will be. This is only a problem if tax payers money goes to paying for obesity treatments. Good thing, we have no welfare. So if obese people start having health problems, they are literally screwed, because number 1, our local health insurances discriminate against obese people and refuse to insure them, because obesity is seen as a pre-existing problem like cancer. These obese people better make sure they are damn rich to afford their own treatment or they are screwed. And if someone is obese, they make themselves sick, but they can't make other people sick by getting obese, just like BDSM. Smoking is seriously having too much secondary consequences. And end of the day, I also view smoking as an addiction. I bet most smokers would not smoke if they didn't feel addicted to it. And I really do not care if people smoke if it does not affect me. I don't care what people voluntarily do to self-harm themselves if it does not affect me. It's their life, and they should have the right to choose EVEN if they want to choose to harm themselves, as long as their actions don't harm others.

Greta you are a piece of work. Apparently you don't understand the concept of Insurance. The healthy ones pay for the sick ones thru the bill you get each month to pay for INS. Most Industrialized countries have some sort of socialized INS. So either you pay a portion of the cost via payments or the government does via taxes. I guess your saying some overweight ppl are not addicted to food?!?!? Please tell me you are not that naive. BadOne

He had a vodka in one hand, a pill in his mouth, a cigarette in the other hand, I am guessing he/ she was overweight, could have been skinny not sure. Had a bag of donuts at his side. Didn't have insurance so they refused him treatment.
