Sams played in the SEC, which is one of the toughest football divisions around

And even in the SEC he was playing against teams made up mostly of future accountants, PE teachers and some lawyer types, perhaps he faced from 0 to 3, 4 tops future NFL players a game.

And I doubt the Rams would have even touched him had they known about that Oprah show.

I will say it again, I have been a football fan for a good 45 of my 50 years and I have watched and followed draft coverage for 25 years and I have never once seen a draft pick make out with his girlfriend and smoosh cake in her face!

In 2013 he played against Georgia, Florida and Auburn amongst other teams. I guarantee you that there are more than 3 or 4 future NFL players on the offenses of those teams.

The only ones that find something like that wrong, are the same bigots that say "marriage is between a man and a women". And those bigots have joined other bigots that hate blacks in a tent. And under that tent are bigots that hate blacks and gay people.

Its called 'The Grand Old Party' tent....

Grand Old Party here...don't hate blacks. Don't hate gays. I'd have to hate my mentor when I was in the service...and I don't. And I'd have to hate several of my cousins...which I don't. And by the way? Just because someone believes differently than you doesn't make them a hater or a bigot.

You might be, but you are a dying breed my friend, the GOP has become, to quote Bobby Jindal, the party of stupid....it is all great and good to talk about the 'liberarian' GOP, but that doesn't mesh with the national party that tried to amend the US constitution to put discrimination in the constitution. Most of the anti gay sentiment comes from "red states", and you don't hear too many democratic politicians equating being gay with pedophilia, besitality and incest the way that several serious candidates for president of the US have said in recent years. It is within the GOP that you see the birther nonsense, or the notion Obama is a muslim radical, and a lot of the rhetoric of the tea party and people like Paul Ryan is based on notions that the budget deficits are caused by people on welfare, and guess who they are implying are 'those people"......and if the GOP is not anti gay, why did John Boehner even refuse to allow ENDA (anti discrimination legislation) come up for a vote? Why? Because he knew that most GOP congressman would vote against it, and he was afraid it would make the party look bad, plus he was running for re-election and by not allowing that to come up, he could go home and please the "GOP" base who might otherwise vote for the tea bagger running against him..and need I mention the "Southern Strategy" that morphed into Ronald Reagan (whose campaign kicked off in Philadelphia, Mississippi, site of the slaying of 4 civil rights workers with the line "states rights", a code word for the Jim Crow era), to the claim by the GOP to white blue collar voters that 'affirmative action took away your jobs' (an exact quote from the party platform).

Yep, there are republicans who aren't haters, the old northeast GOP still exists, but in the party as a whole they have catered to the haters, the racists, the homophobes, the religious right, and it has tainted the party. The fact that the GOP has been led by people from down south in recent decades who belonged to "white citizens councils' says a lot to this.

Interesting comments. While I admit that there are those within the G.O.P. whose views skew differently from the rest of the party, I have yet to see any political group whose views don't skew widely. Surely you do not think that EVERYONE of the Democrat Party adheres to a dead solid belief in abortion across the board in every situation, do you? Surely you do not think that every one that could be considered of the Democrat belief adheres to a "one world" agenda, do you? Surely, you do not think that every Democrat supports gay marriage, do you? (because according to a report in the U.S. News from July 2013, at least 53 percent of Democrats polled stated they would be upset if they were to find out if their child was gay. While the number for Republicans was higher...78 percent...being upset over their child's being gay was not exclusive to Republicans. This can be found at: http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2013/06/07/gop-now-sees-gay-marriage-as-inevitable-as-democrats-do )

But, rather than try and argue it all, I will present the following. I hope you take the time to read through it all. You will find that there are differences not just within the Republican party but the Democratic party.

But I have a feeling, based on your words, that there is little that can be done to change your viewpoint. It's interesting...this belief that many on the left have that those on the right are the ones of intolerance while the left practices its own version of intolerance for those who disagree with them by labeling them with hateful names that have little to do with the person's actual views.

Just curious, I've heard all different responses from "football is a manly sport and no one wants to see that" to "wouldn't you kiss
your partner if something that awesome happen to you?"

If like to hear from y'all...
Personally, I'm didnt think anything about any of it. I was excited he was in a mixed relationship! Right on!
But that's about it. I wasn't grossed out or surprised or anything. I was happy for him.

Well, to be clear, I'm thrilled that all LGBT have the same opportunity at being fucked over as any straight couple is in marriage but, to be honest....it squigged me.

Now, two women's Basketball/Volleyball girls getting hitched and kissing in public....that's perfectly normal (and should be repeated to the point that it's easily 65% of most news reports...unless of course, they're ugly, then.....that shit should be stopped, immediately).
