Aswad -> RE: Do we really need men? (1/30/2008 2:13:36 PM)

quote:
ORIGINAL: Lashra I made the mistake of listening to the news and it put me in an even worse state of mind then I was already in. Never a good idea. quote:
It is just; when you as a woman look at the world today can you truly say that men have done a wonderful job in their so-called leadership roles? Has either gender? If it's a big deal, take over. Anyway... we've got men and women in top government positions up here, and have for the past couple of decades at least. Some men do an absolutely horrid job. Some women do an absolutely excellent job. And vice versa. I've got nothing but respect for a woman in a high position, unless she's there on quota (a significant problem up here). The cure for the whole gender divide is to look at individuals and merit, rather than gender and status. quote:
Am I the only one who some days wants to beat the living shit out of nearly every alpha male she see's and not in a fun way? The only (purportedly) alpha male I want to beat the living shit out of on some days, is myself. Which is not to say that I'd be opposed to see some of the more aggressive betas ground to pulp if they don't quiet down. quote:
Do you ever get sick and tired of hearing how women are supposed to be submissive to men and to let them rule things, when most of them cannot even rule a pet hamster? Yup. Hamster first. Then (wo)men. [:D] quote:
Do you ever want to scream stop raping and killing us (and our children) because you believe that it is your God given right to do so, or just because your physically stronger/bigger (not always) that you can get away with it? Not really. I got no less pissed when three gals had a go at raping a skinny nerd, videotaping it and getting away with it because they were women. They even got to keep the video-tape of the whole thing (which was released from evidence after the trial). After all, women are supposed to have it both ways: equitable treatment (yes, I know, we have a ways to go on that), traditional privileges of their gender, and being perceived as innocent angels and perfect mothers. quote:
Do you ever want to physically bash some guy who has beaten and or abused his wife/girlfriend in some fashion, then justifies it by saying that the bible (or whatever religion/philosophy) says its ok? Speaking as a priest: yes, I get that urge. quote:
Do you ever feel the urge to choke the life out of a proven child molester when you see them on the news? Usually not. Vigilantism doesn't seem to work; nor does perpetuating the cycle of violence and abuse improve things. I've seen women do the same thing, though; difference is people don't think they do, so they walk. quote:
Do you seethe when you hear that women do not need equal rights or control of their own bodies IE abortion? I get pissed at the notion of inequitable treatment for either gender. Do you ever seethe when a man can't get a restraining order against a woman? Or when the courts consistently rule that the mother should have the child and half of everything? Or when some women insist that killing unborn children as a matter of convenience is their birthright as women? quote:
Do you ever get angry with other women who seemingly blindly follow anything the patriarchal system instructs her too? Yup. And, again, the same thing with regard to men. quote:
Do you ever feel that all the men should be gathered up and put into cages and only let out for breeding purposes and drone work? No, but rants like this one make me think some women should be leashed for the common good of both genders. Fortunately, it's rare that I see the kind of unthinking justification of Schopenhauers despicable views of women that you've demonstrated here. It's on rare days like this I see what brand of woman can make some men make such horrid generalizations, that this mythical beast is not so mythical after all. I'm very glad that they appear to be rather rare, although it's sad that they occur. Of course, those comments are only applicable insofar as there is substance to your views. Health, al-Aswad.
