*Hafta add OH! And besides bringing a man to his knees can be done with 3 fingers, in 3 seconds - the same tactic doesn't work nearly as well on the Female form. AND ... I do not hate men. Some of my most entertaining friends are men. It's those dangly bits and how they tend to rule the other 99% of the body I am not so fond of.

Ya know.... There are days when I agree with the OP. These are the days when I am frustrated at every turn and where no matter where I look all I see is the destruction that 'men' have wrought on our planet and my soul. Then.... I take a look at myself. I am not a helpless bystander! This patriachy that has brought about all this 'mess' maybe a skewed perception of 'maleness' but it has and is propped up the 'femaleness'. I put these two words in quotes as I do not think that either can be fully realized by just one gender. However, we do tend to lump certain characteristics in with either being female or male and thus the characterization. We are mothers yet we allow our sons to garner a 'macho' attitude towards women by interacting with the men in our lives in a way that reinforces that idea. We are teachers yet we only teach of wars and revolution. If there is a problem with either my (Canadian) society or your (American) society then we have no farther to look than the mirror to find part of the cause. How many of us have taken boy children away from their video games and out to a wooded area to teach them about growth, planting, and harvest. Isn't it easier to simply do our own thing and let them continue to blow up the latest 'Star Destroyer'? Though these are the rational thoughts that come to me as I sit in front of my computer, I can fully accept and empathize with the OP for her frustration and anger. Perhaps it's time to turn some of that frustration inward and start effecting change on a more personal level. Wickad

Again, if someone had started a thread with an extensive list of why they're fed up and tired of blacks (or women, or chinese, or etc), and how sometimes they feel that maybe they should be kept in cages (perhaps with some humor, but we all know humor has one foot in reality)........ would anyone "take it wrong"? Maybe toss in some stereotypes? I don't think you hate men, Lashra, in fact, I enjoy most of your posts. I even understand quite a few of the things you listed and how they're frustrating. well till now women have great life ? how many women soldiers died in war in protacting country ? how many women miners died in this decade ... women just do easy jobs and blame men for almost everything ....... assume can you go to war or can you go to mines 1000 's of miles underground .. ? if there are some men who rape or kill women again most police men protect and punish these men ... its male dominated society and it will remain as male dominated society .......... so its better to enjoy because its really easy for women to earn money or get anything in this society .. keep doing kids jobs or easy jobs and enjoy ... you just cant do real jobs baby.

Yes, we do. But probably not for the many reasons that men think we need them. I love men, most of them anyway. I really enjoy having them around, and more importantly than needing them, I want them around. And I think it's far better to be wanted than needed.

Lots of women do real jobs; I worked as a roofer for a year, and the couple that owned the company got on the roof with the rest of us. The mrs. of the pair had a work ethic that would put most men to shame. She did everything that we did, and well.
