Children coming across are running to the closest border guard. More of them isn't the answer.

We're back to what's your solution? I offered just gunning them down and serving the meat at the White House, but you didn't like that one either.

Ive only posted it twice now...

We can't prevent foreigners from having children, though. Maybe our immigration policies need to be checked when there is found a cheat sheet for how to not be deported right away.

Who's going to pay for shutting it down?

I will write the check.
Done.
Problem solved.

Does that include the costs of withdrawing from NAFTA? Because that's what we'd have to do to close the border. No traffic in or out, no exports, no imports. We'd have to practically build a Berlin Wall, with machine gun nests every 100 yards. You have enough money in your checking account to cover all that?

Put up the wall. Use all the tech toys at our disposal to monitor the border. Won't need the Berlin wall. Won't need machine gun nests every 100 yards. We can still import/export. You're talking about "sealing" the border, which no one is calling for. There's a huge difference when you are attempting to secure it.

That's what makes it all the more difficult, since you want to close the border yet keep it open at the same time.

Obama & Boehner need your "gently used" underwear...

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2014/06/26/anti-amnesty-group-asks-americans-to-mail-gently-used-underwear-to-obama-boehner/

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/27/alipac-dirty-underwear_n_5537664.html
Just when you thought the members of the ultra-conservative group Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) couldn't get any more tasteless, they decide to send used underwear to undocumented immigrants.

William Gheen, president of the anti-immigration group ALIPAC, urged members to send their "gently used underwear" to President Obama, John Boehner and undocumented immigrants.

The post came as a response to the Department of Homeland Security's request for thousands of pairs of clean men's underwear due to the recent flood of Central American immigrants crossing illegally over the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Think Progress.

"Instead of using our tax money to buy illegals 42,000 pairs of new underwear, we would like to send the illegals and D.C. politicians a message by mailing them our used underwear, and some of our pairs are in really bad shape due to the bad economy and all of the jobs illegal immigrants are taking from Americans," Gheen said.

This is not the first time the ALIPAC leader has urged members to take hostile actions against undocumented immigrants and anyone who supports immigration reform. In September of last year they compared undocumented immigrants to terrorists, asking Americans to "speak against amnesty on 9/11!"

ALIPAC is designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

They have been called racists and bigots by other anti-immigration groups. The founder of the Minutemen, a border patrol advocacy group, wrote in an email that Gheen and his cohorts are “incurable racists who limit activist participation to only white persons, bigots,” according to The Raw Story.

Dontcha just hate it when there is selective editing?!? "Gently used" does not necessarily mean "dirty."

ALIPAC: Mail your used underwear to illegals, Boehner, and Obama

    June 25, 2014

Contact: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) [email protected] | (866) 703-0864

Washington, DC -- ALIPAC.us is calling for tens of thousands of Americans to mail their gently used underwear to Barack Obama and John Boehner to answer Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) need for free underwear for the new surge of illegal immigrants crossing America's borders, enticed by promises of immigration reform amnesty.

While many Americans will be tempted to send the underwear donations unwashed, ALIPAC is reminding citizens that DC is already full of dirty laundry.

"Obama and Boehner have proven once and for all that their talk of passing immigration reform amnesty, instead of enforcing America's existing border and immigration laws, only brings more unwanted and destructive illegal immigration!" said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Instead of using our tax money to buy illegals 42,000 pairs of new underwear, we would like to send the illegals and DC politicians a message by mailing them our used underwear, and some of our pairs are in really bad shape due to the bad economy and all of the jobs illegal immigrants are taking from Americans."

There are plenty of "gently used" and other consignment-type shops in the US, especially for kids. Since kids tend to grow out of clothes quickly, quality clothing may not be unusable. Donation centers (some who give it away and some who sell it) get a lot of it, but so do resale shops.

ALIPAC: Mail your used underwear to illegals, Boehner, and Obama
have a look at some of the comments about the"used" part...not there but at other places that have.... been quoted..
as well as , the actual request was a DHS bid solicitation to secure at least 42,000 pairs of underwear for undocumented immigrants put in detention facilities across the United States. The big clothing order comes at a time when the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency is quickly replenishing necessary resources like clothing and diapers to accomodate unaccompanied children streaming across the border.
Not for "Gently Used"

That is such a fucking stupid comment. Damn near everyone agrees we need immigration reform. The only real disagreement is how we deal with the current illegal immigrants. If you can't see that, my view of your intelligence has just been halved.

ALIPAC made the comment that dirty underwear should not be sent. Imagine how much money it would cost for the Feds to purchase 42k new pairs, vs. the public donating used (but clean) underwear. But, no, "gently used" has to mean "dirty" to liberals.

Disingenuous, at best.

Indeed you are being very disingenuous, go re read the breitbart/drudge/ailpac links. posts and the difference between the actual story and their "spin" on it.

BTW nobody , and I mean NOBODY said that ailpac or drudge or even breitbart are responsible for posts left by their readers (except inciting their band of fuckwads), but it gives you a happy insight into their supporters, and that says so much more.
Have a look around some of their other links and posts if you dont get it.
Or not.
Republicans have said Reform is dead.... another case of sticking their heads up each others asses.
its already been made clear they dont have the space to sort, clean/process "used" underwear....setting that up would cost more than the cost to buy brand new. Please feel free to apply for the job of sorting out the underwear that will be sent by supporters of this group.... then tell me what gets mailed to you is gently used..

that cheat sheet is of no value at all, what they need is a cheat sheet on how not to get caught in the first place..

Actually, I was the one that posted the actual ALIPAC story, when showing HuffPo's selective editing in action. So, apparently, I was actually the one to read the actual story. Perhaps instead of spending money getting illegal immigrants new underwear, we don't supply them with underwear at all? We can send them home as is, no?

ME: "ALIPAC made the comment that dirty underwear should not be sent. Imagine how much money it would cost for the Feds to purchase 42k new pairs, vs. the public donating used (but clean) underwear. But, no, "gently used" has to mean "dirty" to liberals.

Apparently, DK thinks ALIPAC has some responsibility for those that comment.

Yeah, a reader comment vs. a BP agent, in determining whether a cheat sheet was of value. [8|]

Why don't they know the legal process? They know the illegal process. So, they spend little time figuring out how to legally gain access to the US, and risk their lives and their family security, and they don't have to shoulder any of the blame?

the reader comment was about the difficult process of legal entry, not about the cheat sheet.. I gave my own opinion on the cheat sheet as it doesn't stop deportation so its not of any value to anyone that wants to stay.. I would say its more of a ploy by the traffickers to suck people into thinking that they have a good chance of staying when in actuality they don't..

lets see.. for poor people basically the only way in is to either marry an American or already have close family that can sponsor you, other than that you are screwed.. any other legal ways are temporary at best, such as migrant farm labor which only gets them a very short term visa and they have to pay recruiters to get the job in the first place.. I knew someone that was a welder from Mexico who married an American and they were applying for him to get a green card, frequently incompetent INS would lose their paperwork and they would have to provide it again.. its not an easy process & I don't know if he was actually ever allowed in.. Really, the only way to get in with relative success (or to avoid deporatation) is to have $500k to $1 million in the bank & provide 5-10 jobs within a certain number of years..

Thank you for correcting me. I mistook your comment as part of the reader's comment.

Now, this is why we do need immigration reform. IMO, it should be less difficult, less expensive, and take less time for people who want to legally immigrate, assimilate and build their lives in the US.

There should be a way for American businesses to recruit migrant workers. I believe that should be on the dime of the American business, too. They are the ones looking for less expensive labor. But, there's probably more migrant workers wanting to get a work visa to work for an American business than there are openings in American businesses, so the standards are likely higher, and the migrant workers are being forced to "bribe" their way to the front of the line. Immigration reform could include banning American businesses from requiring/accepting payment from migrant workers.

I'm not against legal immigration at all. I wholeheartedly support it. I'm just opposed to illegal immigration and wish to make it more difficult for illegal immigrants to gain legal entry than those who are legally trying to gain legal entry.
