It's very common for people think everyone else is like them. This happens on the individual level as well as the social level. Ever heard of the "everyone wants to be an American" myth. I don't know how many times I've heard or read about the rude awakening Americans get when they travel abroad and realize people in other countries are quite happy with their own culture. I work closely with a guy who constantly interacts with others as if they all have the same focus level and skills as he does. anthrosub

And why culture itself deserves to be questioned.
