Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli. I'd like some clarification if he thinks it's past time that he got rid of it, or if it's an enjoyable pastime. And if so how, do you go around saying "cool, my scalp is tingling again".

But it doesn't specify sexual. If smelling fresh baked cookies makes your scalp tingle, then that's something unusual for most people.

OK, wow. Where the heck do you go to find out if you have that? I always thought it was adrenaline but this sounds closer to my experience while domming and climaxing tantricly. Also if on a really intense rollercoaster ride (fear of heights never stopped me) or a heavy make out session. (Still torn about it being adrenaline with occasional orgasm thereafter. Especially with the lack of medical evidence supporting it.) I get a tingling in my face though, primarily my lips and the tip of my nose, (a very different type of tingling as if tiny caterpillar hairs and brushing over my lips and nose).
While domming though, yes, I can climax without disrobing but isn't tantric sex quite similar? I'm primarily tactile, olfactory might be second (pheromones, I just LOVE the scent of a man), then cognitive and of course visual. ^ tingling in your face, espicially, around the lips, and after a high energy activity- is actually usually a sign of low calcium- and you should absolutely get blood tested for it...

It is MY understanding that ASMR doesn't give you a boner and an orgasm. I suppose it can be erotic- but it isn't sexual in most cases. Its not the same as "getting wet". To me its always sounded like "goosebumps" to the extreme. They also can hear someone's voice and "melt" into a trance. It, to me, seems closer to a meditation thing than a sexual one. If that makes any sense.

Impossible, I have a huge amount of bone density, enough to legpress 500 lbs and I get my blood checked anytime I pop in for an annual visit. Also I doubt calcium deficiency is what makes me cum without physical stimulation directly on that region of my body but thanks for the input! And I orgasm, cum, climax. Getting wet is easy for me, I'm probably wet right now for all I know. I'm always "somewhat" aroused.

Edited to add: by the way, in case anyone needs this reference. Most obvious sign of low calcium is white spotting in your nails.

Ok...

Bone density is not necessarily a direct factor. My mom has hypocalcaemia- as a result of hypoparathyroidism. Her bones are still great.

Thanks dear, pretty familiar, worked with three doctors and did EKGs and ran blood tests and the like. Earliest being a cardiologist at 17 so pretty aware of all this stuff but again, input appreciated but I can literally read my own blood tests.
Also this ASMR might not even exist, I also stated pretty sure it's adrenaline in my case that just happens to be couple with a high sex drive. :)

I don't know what the validity of ASMR is as a diagnosable condition. But the Preston & Steve morning show on Philadelphia's WMMR had a major segment on it.
