NG and I have been at this awhile, both having an interest in this for many years and have read nearly every account upon the subject.

My response to NG dealt with only two things. First, as to how Amos Simpson may POSSIBLY have gotten possession of the shawl, even if he was not at the scene, and I presented it as nothing more than sheer speculation.

And second, dealt only with how Kosminski's semen could have POSSIBLY gotten on the shawl.

Now, if you want a POSSIBLE reason that the shawl might not be listed...
1. The shawl was found NEAR the crime scene...not on her body.
2. The police had her in custody just a few minutes earlier, and most likely they knew she hadn't had the shawl at that time, and so didn't think it was hers.
3. The shawl was more expensive than they thought she would own.
4. IF (notice I said "if") they didn't think it was part of the crime scene, it would help to explain why it was given to Simpson. If they thought it was part of the crime scene I doubt that they would have done that.

Should be said that cockneys refer to Jews as Yids (universally).

Yid wasn't widely used in London till after the 2nd World War.

Well, it would be better if he was British, after all, they make such good bad guys....haven't you seen the Jaguar commercial that explains why British make the best bad guys? *lol*.

There is one thing that makes this person a likely suspect, and that if if I read the story correctly, he was put away in an insane asylum, and the fact that the killings stopped. The only thing I don't know is when he was put away, but if he was put away not too long after the last crime, that would fit.

The one question I have comes from what I recall of the case. One of the reasons they suspected a relative of the royal family was the way the women had their organs cut out and so forth, seemed to indicate that the person doing it had some knowledge of anatomy, more than likely medical training, and the suspect I mention had that. The question then is, if this guy (the Polish immigrant) did it, where did he get that knowledge? Not saying he didn't do it,just wondering.
