Sanity -> "Journalism" These Days (9/28/2014 10:50:38 AM)

We elected someone based on the color of his skin because we have an elitist media who thought that was a good idea

Now that we have gotten to know Barack Obama, who the media failed to properly vet, even leftists (the ones who can be honest) don't like many of the mans policies

At the same time, plenty on the left like to rant and rail against FOX News because it is the only conservative or middle-of-the-road network and they cant stand dissent. Can't stand another viewpoint that might rattle their thought process

Here is an example of what they apparently do like however, more pablum-puking softball interviews and coverage of "their guy" who it turns out, they didn't know in the first place because of their media choices:

quote:

Steve Kroft's Softball Obama Interviews Diminish '60 Minutes'

On 60 Minutes, the news-magazine show that prides itself on "hard-hitting" investigations and interviews, correspondent Steve Kroft, who has won most of the highest awards in his industry, has just broadcast another softball interview with the most powerful man in the world, a performance that ought to earn him a rebuke from his peers in the news business but almost certainly won't. ...

...Lest you think I am being too hard on Kroft, here are all of the questions broadcast from his Obama-Clinton interview:

"This is very improbable. This is not an interview I ever expected to be doing. But I understand, Mr. President, this was your idea. Why did you want to do this together, a joint interview?"

"There's no political tea leaves to be read here?"

"It's no secret that your aides cautioned you against -- actually were against you offering Secretary Clinton this job. And you were just as determined not to take it. And you avoided taking her phone calls for awhile because you were afraid she was going to say no. Why were you so insistent about wanting her to be secretary of state?"

"You've been quoted as thinking or telling people that there was no way you were going to take this job and you weren't going to let anybody talk you into it. What did he say that night that made you [change your mind]?"

"What did he promise you? And has he kept the promises?"

I doubt the journalism situation will improve much from here, either

Exit polls found Obama getting the votes of 93 percent of African-Americans...

Was that because he was against gay marriage early on, or because he came out for it later

Or maybe it was because of the way he promised to get us out of Iraq

Or how he would later (now) lead the world into war there

Actually it is when you make a generalized statement.

That seems to be fairly consistent with other recent elections.

Wasnt Bill O reilly gonna do a "hard hitting" interview?

That went down like a lead balloon, snickers

Moderate appears no where in Fox's self description. That would just be laughable

No, generalized means you may or may not be included

In that case the adjectives "some, many, few" would have been used. I know my politics quite well since for a couple of years, I was a journalist. It started with me debunking everything the radio host had said while I was tuned in, before we knew it, we were a match made in heaven.

The term "93%" didnt mean all or every, last time I checked

Looking at your charts, it spiked in 2008 & 2012

Though people of every color voted for Barack Obama on account of his skin color in those years

epiphiny43 -> RE: "Journalism" These Days (9/28/2014 11:59:45 AM)

Maybe you were out of the country then? Most of us voted not for the black man but against one more tool of the corporate elite, with the fun addition of a cultist believing whatever Joseph Smith hallucinated. Obama wasn't close to being on my list of Good candidates, just a hell of a lot better than what the alternative was. Which is still most opinions, when people remember the dilemma faced in the voting booth.
ANY black voting for a Mormon has to be drinking some dangerous KoolAid?

GoddessManko -> RE: "Journalism" These Days (9/28/2014 12:04:54 PM)

FR, From your own chart, most African Americans typically vote Democrat anyway so i highly doubt skin color was the defining factor. Also, things are going to get really interesting once Obama is out and Congress can have their way, buckle in for the ride. Personally, I find the entire thing nothing short of amusing, apologies. I quit politics years ago. [:D]

MASTERLIX -> RE: "Journalism" These Days (9/28/2014 12:07:57 PM)

So, OP, you think President Obama was voted for twice because of his color? So, why you didn't make sure he didn't win the second time?

What is President Obama's color? His father is black. His mother is white. So, what is his color?

You are giving African Americans more credit than they deserve. If all the votes by African Americans were all he got, do you think he could had won the Presidency twice with that? That is even if he received 100% of their votes. 93% doesn
t mean 93% of African Americans.

How come you didn't mobilize your base to register and vote?

You have forgotten to mention that under President Obama, the economy has moved on a progressive chart to recovery...from how George Bush left it.

You have forgotten to mention that under President Obama, that we now have a healthcare that has a foundation with mandates that gives us a platform to continue to fix. We have not had that for decades. We needed a healthcare program...a national healthcare program that many Presidents before President Obama could not touch with a ten feet pole.
he
You have forgotten to mention that under President Obama, that we have Democrat President that has taken tough stance on foreign policy when it comes to war...something that hitherto was always credited to Republican Presidents...

So, once again, why didn't you make sure he was not voted back? What is the percentage of African Americans? So, you really think President Obama won both the first and second times, solely because of African American votes?

What makes you think the whites voted for him because they saw him as white? What makes you think whites voted for him because they saw in him, someone with great ideology for the country?

Obama didn't win as President because of African Americans. Obama won both elections because of the independents.

You better wake up from your deep sleep.

SL
