AND it doesn't address the point -- why should anonymous investors be allowed to buy influence in US elections?

Government should be transparent

Citizens are owed the right to privacy

Its normal for leftists to have such matters backwards though

Ah, there's the word we were looking for. Indeed.

And when it works out (which it so often has) the ROI can be fantastic, certainly far beyond that of any product marketing campaign.

Limiting government corruption starts with limiting the size and power of government

Which is what the Tea Party is all about

The bleating of which involves no thought process whatsoever.

Sad how, time and again we see how because leftists cannot persuade people through honest debate, they must rely instead almost solely on these lowly personal attacks to muddy the water and disrupt any thoughtful discussion

Actually, your troll post contradicts your own point, as my point is for transparency.

It's normal for you to be clueless though.

Then let's go back to disclosure and limit the size of contributions.

But at the very least, let's know who's buying the government. That should be simple enough for even Tea Party folk to grasp.

Where were you when the taxpayers were paying ungodly sums of money for the Obamacare website to nowhere, from a company run by a friend of Michelle Obama?

Can you show me a post wherein you condemned that particular no-bid cronyism?

Because regulating free speech is such a drastic measure, I would like to see the proponents of forcing citizens to tattoo their political allegiances on their foreheads pony up some credibility on the issue

Do you really care about honesty in government, or is this just (as I suspect) another means for leftists to intimidate their hated and despised political enemies into silence

Musicmystery -> RE: Interesting Point (10/29/2014 7:11:31 PM)

And yet, when for hundreds of years your dire predictions didn't happen...but suddenly that's the threat of undoing Citizens United for you and the masters you parrot.

So much for honesty.

So you never did condemn the crony leftist elites. The very best you can do to answer, is try to deflect. Then you reach low for your standard crutch, the personal attack

Edwynn -> RE: Interesting Point (10/29/2014 8:04:32 PM)

Quit referring to people's accurate assessment of your mental faculties -based on everything you post- as a 'personal attack.' I'm sure you took every bad grade you got in school as a 'personal attack' too, because the teachers 'didn't engage you in "thoughtful debate,"' when coherent or leastways meaningful thought process was/is so obviously beyond you.

Mindless repeated parroting of facile and banal sloganeering that is the entirety of your efforts does not in any way constitute 'thoughtful debate.' You can't come up with anything on your own. Nothing.

I talk almost everyday to homeless people and working-their-ass-off poor who have little 'upside' in the world who could argue circles around you any day of the week. That's a fact.

Interesting that you take history as a personal attack.

See a shrink about that. The point here is that doing away with the transparency that served us well for years is not a step toward transparency, whatever talking points you parrot.

Not sure why he should. A personal attack is a personal attack no matter what he said to instigate it. Just like the bolded statement above are personal attacks. You can spot them because they use the word "you" which makes is personal. Now I don't agree with a lot of what he says but that doesn't change the fact that he has a small group who jump on anything he says and often bring his name up in threads he hasn't even commented on yet.

The "masters you parrot" line is a personal attack

As is your "See a shrink about that" line

As is your "whatever talking points you parrot" line

You don't even realize that these cheap personal attacks are practically all that you and your fellow far left ideologues really have in any given "debate" do you

hot4bondage -> RE: Interesting Point (10/30/2014 7:01:04 AM)

Hmm. Seems like Sanity's disclosure led to personal attacks. Go figure.

ThirdWheelWanted -> RE: Interesting Point (10/30/2014 7:14:17 AM)

I don't always agree with Sanity, but there does seem to be a group of people here who jump from thread to thread throwing out insults every time he posts. Which, as I understand it at least, is against the rules even in Feisty.

Lucylastic -> RE: Interesting Point (10/30/2014 8:18:22 AM)

you mean like the group that follows every post dom ken makes , to accuse him of lying or being a liar?
OMG and most of them are complaining for sanity

Oh and I do realise, IM in no way innocent regarding pointing out sanitys crap....
but im honest about it.

mnottertail -> RE: Interesting Point (10/30/2014 8:57:06 AM)

There is no actual Tea Party in the United States, there is a group by that name that was co-opted by the nutsucker party.

However, in order to limit the government, as is a nutsucker stated goal, and to drive communism out of the United States as is another nutsucker stated goal:

Lets get the states who are communistically taking honest working peoples money, and nutsuckering with it, in their communist redistribution of our wealth under the guise of red nutsucker states:

http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/05/which-states-are-givers-and-which-are-takers/361668/

Now, we get back the overages, and then have them states pay back the money that as nutsuckers they have communisted from us all these years.

I will admit that it's sometimes difficult to remain fair and even-tempered here, although this is a phenomenon I've seen on just about every message board I've read. From what I've observed, Sanity appears to be an Artful Dodger

[image]http://www.flamewarriorsguide.com/Assets/artfuldodger.jpg[/image]

quote:

Artful Dodger is a nimble and elusive Warrior. When strongly attacked he changes the subject with a diversionary counterattack. For example, if in a moment of pique his opponent refers to him to him as a "sonofabitch", Artful Dodger will not only demand a public apology for the insult to his own mother, but will castigate his opponent on behalf all mothers everywhere. Knowing full well that staying on topic works to his disadvantage, Artful Dodger will not allow himself to be pinned down.
