I agree with that, and I think the writers of those articles agreed with that wholeheartedly as well. They might have the same goal, although they seem to differ on how best to achieve it. That happens. One thing I seem to notice a lot in any kind of persuasive or symbolic speech like this is the portraying of "the other," whether it's someone of "the other gender," or "the other race," or "the other religion," or even "the other political party." "They" are the problem, not "us." Even if issues may be separate from each other, I notice a common thread in how the rhetoric is structured for various issues, and even for both sides of the issue. Others in this thread have also raised the suggestion that this might happen more in America than in other countries (except Muslim countries because they're of "the other religion"). But that might be a reference to our historical record which includes some level of atrocity, lawlessness, and generally uncivilized and undisciplined behavior. While we often try to kid ourselves into thinking that we are an "enlightened" people, there are still remnants and legacies from our past that still remain. To a large extent, we still embrace our "inner cowboy" in different ways, manifested in popular culture in multiple ways. Sexism and racism are very much a part of it, although I think those might be symptoms of a deeper problem.

I think the video did that to honestly show the scope of it? I don't think its fake. And even if it were I would say it is an accurate portrayal. Between this and gamergate, I mean what a hill to die on...all I fight for is equality and respect (they go hand in hand). I'm actually curious what would happen if they did this with a trans woman of color, because apparently in certain parts of this country they get this shit 100x worse (NOLA). Also...some food for thought...in philly a girl was recently abducted off the street by what they now believe to be a stranger. There is a terrifying video of it, and I really challenge anyone to watch and tell me self defense classes would've helped her or call her pathetic for not escaping...

I agree especially with what you said. Any feminist these men accuse of saying "men are evil" never said any such thing, nor does the video suggest that. I think the issue is not that it's being done but the frequency of it. I am not sure if it's a male thing on a biological level. Twice RIGHT NEXT to me, there has been a collision. One time, yes...I was wearing a kimikal corset and miniskirt, feeling frisky. But the other time, I had on a really nice cropped neck sweater and decently mid thigh skirt. I am used to giving a friendly nod or saying hello when I make eye contact with someone but some people just don't respond well to it. Also by her body language, you could tell she didn't want to be bothered. I get like that at times too. It's like breaking the cardinal rule of trying to pick up a woman at the gym, some girls like it but chances are everyone else thinks it's tacky.

Oh I don't think its fake either, she's an actress but the set was real life and I guess they could have left that in to show that after you have heard these comments so many times, almost any comment from a male can start to get a bit wearing on the street, because you don't know the intention behind it and a lot of us have experiences where a hello on the street has turned into something else. I would personally almost always reply with a greeting back to someone who just said hello to me though. I'm not going to let a few idiots colour my perception to everyone. I've spoken up. Like I said before, some guys need to stop acting like animals when women walk down the street. Stop blaming the female because she is wearing something and then blame her because she shouldn't be wearing tight clothes or whatever. How about a man take responsibility for his own dam actions and stop acting like an animal. I sadly did see the other video of the girl being abducted in Philly a few days ago. Its crap like that, which is very disturbing. That lady didn't do anything but walk down the street and some piece of human trash waits and then abducts her. This is no laughing matter. Not all men are animals like that. Perhaps it is time for the men who do care about these issues, to stand up to the jerks who think women are nothing more than a sex object. Yes, I am a male sub and respect women anyways. But it goes beyond that. This is a human rights issue that must be dealt with. I've read a lot of interesting books on feminism lately. Feminists make some very good points. The only one things about the nazi-feminists that I disagree with is that all men are bad. That kind of thinking only divides people who do care with the "us vs them" mentality. There are some good men who do care and want to help to make a positive differences in the world, for ALL Humans. I am one of those guys.
