ORIGINAL: Sanity The few who benefit already vote solid Democrat for the most part anyway, so... Win-win Actually, if I were to judge based on what I read from those who haven't drunk the koolaid on either side, we seem to think the law is flawed on the whole but has it's ups and downs. Will it "subsidize the medical complex" as the Republicans claim? Sure. Has it also brought health insurance to a fair number who didn't have it already. Yes, it has -- by force in some cases. Is that force a bad thing? That's a bit more complicated since those people would've consumed highly expensive emergency room treatments without it. In other words, we were all paying for them. Perhaps we will now pay less? Are we devoutly glad that it capped some of the egregious maneuverings of the insurance companies -- yeah but it didn't go nearly far enough. My sense among independents is that Obama gets minor positive points for the ACA. Most of us think the Republicans are faring substantially worse on health care though since they have no real plan other than to repeal the ACA. The reason "Vulnerable Dems" scrambled away from Obamacar is the same reason they scrambled away from Obama himself. The man might as well have been Bush3. I mean... when you get outside the party propaganda here's Obama: Torture: Yup, he supports it. Due Process: Nope, that's oft-times inconvenient. Militarization of Police Force: Full steam ahead under Obama MASSIVE domestic surveillance: Yup, Obama loves police states too. Guantanamo: Still exists Wars: Have we stopped bombing the mideast in his entire tenure? 7 different countries I think. Stock Market Crash: He appointed all the crooks to high positions Class Wars: We're losing the net neutrality war because of him. Transparency: He's a worse liar than Bush. At least with Bush you knew he was lying. Obama pulls it off with that dopey grin of his. The guy is pro-military, pro-business, and anti-democracy. What more could you conservatives want out of a candidate? The only places he differs from your guys is he doesn't want to institute a theocracy and a few social issues which are obviously important to some but to me sort of pale in the face of "no due process".
