You *really* should read your link.

It has nothing to do with the fantasies in your head. In fact, quite the opposite.

You'd look a little less like a poor fool.

Nah,he'll look just as much the fool.

kdsub -> RE: BREAKING NEWS (12/9/2014 11:19:03 AM)

First... this report is a political crap... We have a Democratic committee interpreting thousands of pages of evidence and coming up with a conclusion that the torture produced no results and blame the CIA. The CIA says bull... they were following orders and the torture did save lives. Neither one it seems realize the disgrace and hypocritical stain these cowardly actions have and will have on the reputation of the United States.

I am ashamed for my country...we cannot even admit to our lies without one group or another trying for political gain.

It is always tricky for the US government to admit huge mistakes, and in this case human rights violations and violations of the Geneva Convention, etc.

Occupy Islamic nations far from our shores.

Torture the locals.

Wonder why we aren't making progress on the "War on Terror."

O the opportunity cost of that $2 Trillion Dollars and lost lives poured down a hole without end.

What mistakes?

And the trolls feigning to not understand the OP sarcasm is as ludicrous as Gruber's backpeddling.

Another new sock who joined just to come weigh in on Politics.

* yawn *

Don't you have better things to do than making new socks?

Dont you have anything better to do than post here constantly, mostly unintelligble claptrap or personal attacks with no substance?

I disagree. Nor am I ashamed of this nation. Right or wrong, Americans tend to have certain positions with the best of intentions in mind. My problem is that there is a growing divide going on that is being perpetuated and even promoted by the media. I would like to understand o what end.
Also this is not something the Democrats only recently decided. During my more political days this was not a revelation, torture was something I advocated against because Intelligence Experts all came to the same conclusion that cloudboy and others have.
It simply is a fact that it has never worked, people will admit to anything when being tortured.
I'm surprised this is an epiphany for many and even further evidence of the "right information" not being given to the citizenry. Live Science Link.

And people wonder why Americans are called arrogant... I doubt there is a more patriotic person on Collarspace... maybe this is why I am ashamed and mad as hell.

Understood. Your feelings are valid but we must keep in perspective that these are actions taken by representatives of our citizenry, not the citizenry itself. This country is made up of great people whether the leadership reflects that or not. i feel like it is detrimental to the country itself when the morale of its citizens falter, whether by fault of D or R. Their actions or inactions affect not only us, but our future generations who have no voice in the current state of affairs. We have a responsibility to them, not just our self interests. This is my growing concern. i thought the almost collapse of the markets in 2008 would improve things but it didn't. In fact ,they seem to be getting alarmingly worse and political activism is not only time consuming but thankless. We're too busy with our kids' soccer practice or ballet lessons to babysit out government. "Who is watching the watchers?"
What would be a more efficient way of compromise towards progress?

Of course we all have our personal opinions but it is my belief that we are responsible for our representatives. Their crime is ours like it or not... We elected them and must ultimately be responsible for their actions.

It would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise. I have said in the past that the citizens of nations, all nations, are responsible for actions of their governments.. I believe it.

Since you know all that, you're OBVIOUSLY a sock. Duh.

I'm man enough to put my name next to what I post, and I don't have to make up imaginary friends to support me.

THAT'S the "level" of "debate" we're having here.

I too am ashamed of my country ,and have been since the day the Bush administration chose to codify torture.

kdsub -> RE: BREAKING NEWS (12/9/2014 1:11:41 PM)

I am not so naive as to think there was never torture before Bush but with him it was sanctioned. Up until then we had the high ground and every right to talk down to less moral nations... Not anymore... we have lost that innocence and I'll bet a lot of respect throughout the world... not that I give a crap what they think but i do care what I think of my own government.

Considering the recent events of profiles started recently and then hidden, of new members that hit the Dungeon running, I will be considering a ban on these types of accounts, as sock accounts. You know, an attempt to curtail the sock accounts we have had issue with in this section.

Lucylastic -> RE: BREAKING NEWS (12/9/2014 3:37:25 PM)

As you have not delivered anything to do with the topic....and you dont have the balls to post under your real cs name....your posts are beyond feeble. and instantly forgettable.
