No problem.

Wow. Seems we anti-establishment tree-hugging hippie types had a point when from Nixon on when we distrusted covert government operations.

Question -- you were all for this when the Bush administration went for it. What changed for you? When did you decide it was wrong?

Or is the point that it's not wrong, and that you're happy the practice is continuing?

Why didn't the drone program bother you under Bush? Oh yeah...another administration from a different political party.

And when did waterboarding become "loud music"?

We get that, for you, everything is about politics. But despite your "ridicule as if argument" response, Michael laid out clearly the non-partisan issues. It's not about parties -- it's about people, consequences, long term thinking vs. hot-headed reaction. The real world is more complicated than Rs and Ds.

GoddessManko -> RE: BREAKING NEWS (12/11/2014 10:07:53 AM)

Additionally the deported Russian spy Anna Chapman made a very public display on Snowden's twitter. Russian Spy Proposes to Edward Snowden publicly.

FR

CIA chief challenges Senate torture report

And again, only the worst terrorists, the top few masterminds in custody were interrogated using the enhanced techniques and top Democrats were briefed and didnt object until they smelled political opportunity

Top Democrats do not care how rehashing this old news to help push Jonaton Gruber out of the headlines will endanger Americans abroad and harm America's relations with others

The world was supposed to love us again after electing our wholly unqualified affirmative action candidate

How is that working out

He also notified them of where our spies were within Hong Kong and mainland China. (Clearly not a commie spy). [8|]

Your link doesn't say anything about Snowden telling China where our spies are. I'm pretty sure he's been VERY careful about who sees what he took. Did you know that he gave up a comfortable life and career in Hawaii? He's certainly dedicated to something, but I don't think it's Communism. Another poster mentioned the documentary called "Citizen Four." Maybe you should check it out.

The United States used harsh interrogation techniques after 9/11, including WATERBOARDING

http://news.yahoo.com/fears-backlash-us-release-cia-torture-report-023713739.html

I shit you not

Anybody who thinks that their own country military is not doing the same are deluding themselves. The only difference is, US seem to be the lousiest at keeping such things away from public media as compared to other countries.

I tell ya, if they capture a terrorist who planted the bomb that is gonna blow a few places up, or even schools, they are gonna threaten to rape his wife, kill his children, whatever it takes to break him to find out where those bombs are to un-detonate it. I'm pretty sure terrorists don't give up information if you kill them with kindness.

I don't know why we are condemning the military for doing what is necessary to get information to protect us.

So Snowden giving American secrets to communists does not alarm you? And I don't need to see a work of fiction about the traitor. He swore Allegiance to the USA.

Sanity why does nothing you state that I have seen make any sense? Firstly, he is "Magna Cum Laude" Harvard and the people who get affirmative action the most in this country are caucasian women because they too are protected by the "Civil Rights Act". What part of Magna cum Laude Harvard equates to "affirmative action" out of curiosity.

Extravagasm -> RE: BREAKING NEWS (12/12/2014 8:41:32 AM)

You're swimming in lies, GoddessManko. Whatsmore you keep shifting them. First you say Snowden revealed the identity of US spies in China. Then you say he told where they were. Double false. Snowden's information had nothing to do with operatives.

Then you say he gave American secrets to communists. No, they get more from reading from the Library of Congress or the Congressional Record.

Then you call "Citizen Four", fiction -- while admitting to not having seen it. Are you making an attempt at hysterics?? "Citizen Four" which I've seen five times in order to analyze -- is a LIVE filming of Snowden during the disclosure process. Don't talk about things you have no knowledge of. That's as bad as the press.

So far everything you said about Edward Snowden is mistaken, except that he swore allegiance to USA. He comes from a long line of military patriots, of the US nation, which he clearly loves.

You seem poorly confused by the media's use of the term 'spying' in the Snowden context. It's not about operatives--that kind of 'spy'. It's about unconstitutional commandeering of electronic and digital communications on everybody, to 'spy' on their every communication. Government is doing this sitting at their desks! It's about saying 1984 is completely here today. It's not about information to enemies. No such claim. It's about a wakeup call. And apparently one you need, lest your arguments remain as stone-aged as your avatar.

The traitors are the criminals that Snowden exposed, the people who don't give a shit about the constitution or the freedoms that it protects.

Snowden is a true patriot - the sort of person every society needs in order to remain free.

Ok and "De-nile (Denial)" ain't just a river in Egypt as they say. Yes, of course, giving confidential records and information to communists is definitely not traitorous to the United States. We see Chinese operatives revealing where their spies are all the time, oh wait, no they don't. And they put people on death row for tax evasion so I regard the US to be of higher principle. This man gave HIGHLY CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS TO COMMUNISTS. How much more must he do to prove he has betrayed this nation? How on earth is such an individual lacking any integrity or honor regarded with anything other than disdain? Not to mention the information leaked is potentially dangerous to our covert operatives.
Spying has been going on since Hoover, the only issue under Bush was "wiretapping WITHOUT A WARRANT". Spy wars are nothing new, but what you have in Snowden is a turn coat who decided to give classified documents and information to entities who are doing the EXACT SAME THING to us.
What part of his giving communist secrets is supposed to make him heralded as a hero exactly? Do tell. [:D]

Ah, finally a reason why individuals would want to prosecute those who protect us and indeed laid down their lives for us as CIA agents and the cop alone in our dangerous streets.

Are you against the idea of prosecuting the police when they break the law?

Do you believe that the rights granted you by the constitution are worth defending, fighting for.

Or would you prefer to leave all of that "rights" nonsense in the hands of the CIA.

What does Star think?

Nobody including the President is above the law. I'm not sure what you are asking in the two following sentences, it seems confused since the CIA is only one entity that fights for our rights.

Star grew up in this area of St. Louis and ran several Pizza shops in it. She knows the cops have their hands full in this area. Her delivery boys had to be careful in this area but not from fear of the police. She knows the blacks in this area generally trigger the problems that occur with them and the police. She, being from that area, knows the cop was defending himself and doing his job. She is very upset about the riots and says she knows they are not justified, she is upset about the fires and knows the riots were not about justice but about theft. She therefore is also upset that good people will avoid defending us for fear of being prosecuted and losing their job and even their ability to live in the area they defended for fear of being shot in the back or having their own families theatened by people who have decided for themselves to ignore the facts and make up their own truth.
