Hmmmmm I thought it was a democrat that said "the buck stops here" or something like that. And that all the training I ever received is that the chain of command (which stops at the buck) is responsible for the actions of the subordinates appointed/designated/etc below. Did I hear it wrong?

You cannot convict someone criminally for something a subordinate did without their knowledge no matter how much you hate that person.

DK If I remember correctly, Admiral Husband E Kimmel annd LT Gen Walter Short and to some extent the Secretaries of War, Navy and State and the POTUS held responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941? Seems like the chain of command to me being held responsible.

But any halfwit can read the tax law in question and see that the organizations are violating it.
DK
That explains why you think they violated the law.

Because they were claiming 501(c)4 status and they simply don't qualify
http://www.irs.gov/Charities-&-Non-Profits/Other-Non-Profits/Types-of-Organizations-Exempt-under-Section-501(c)(4)

They were requesting tax exemption status, Ken. If they didn't qualify, why did they get exempt status granted eventually? Wasn't the issue, initially, over the length of time it took for applications to get processed (years in some cases)?

You certainly do like to poke and prod, don't you? lol

As if KD's answer is going make any more sense of things.

Poke and prod? This was his response to me, and since it has *nothing* to do with what I posted, I'm asking for clarification.

If that's "poke and prod," you have a strange lexicon.

(but yes, I caught the lol, and point taken)

I am poking at DK who takes my "responsibility" to mean "criminal". The two are not necessarily the same. Impeachment is a holding of responsibility. An impeachment proceeding, as far as I know can only convict on responsibility, but cannot convict criminally. That takes a criminal court. Least the last I heard. Plus I keep poking at DK's "are" comment because he has failed to provide the associated proof.

Oh, Ken, you silly, sad, stupid, twatwaffle. You were being given a hypothetical of a future situation, not a threat for today. Seriously dude, you need to get yourself re-connected with some perspective, because you don't matter to anyone very much at all.

To the topic, I believe that any American who is familiar with the facts (granting that it's easy not to be familiar with them), and is not outraged at the abuse of power, isn't worthy of being called an American.

I am conversant with the facts, and am outraged at the way the policy is being executed, in view of what is clearly in the law. Those organizations should never have been allowed.

Stick to playing scrotum games, Ron. You don't have the credibility left to lie.

First, the groups that were "targeted" are breaking the law so it was appropriate for Lerner to contact the DOJ about them. Why they are not being prosecuted is the actual scandal.

Second Nixon was not impeached so your memory sucks.

Nixon was impeached (articles of impeachment were voted out of the house and sent to the senate) but when the head count saw only and yet a still unbelievable, 8 or 9 votes not to remove him...Nixon resigned before the senate got around to voting.

And there were several felony criminal acts for which he was impeached and thus also has to be pardoned by Ford.

No. Never made it out of the House:

In 1974, the House Judiciary Committee recommended Articles of Impeachment to the full House of Representatives, but Nixon resigned before the House voted on the Articles. Hence Nixon was not impeached during the Watergate scandal.

I stand (or sit) corrected. "Be it resolved that president of the US is impeached" never made it to the full floor of the house. Thought it had.

Hardly, he was not an industrial terrorist, among other things, and would have told the truth, Ayn and Paul Rand the russkies would never have anything to say I want to listen to.
