Another "non-violent" protest...

with a clearly stated goal...

Why choose the Post and the Daily News, known for sensationalizing the "news"?

25,000 people marched peacefully. 100 broke off with their own agenda: "around 100 protesters, many of whom wore scarfs and bandannas over their faces, slipped away from the crowd on 32nd Street. They hurled traffic cones and trash cans at police cars, and beat their fists against the cars’ windows. 'Whose streets? Our streets!' they shouted."

Not approving, of course, but hardly the hyped up version you shared.

And the video where that group is shouting "what do we want? Dead cops" "when do we want it? Now"?

And the CUNY Professor, Eric Linsker, arrested for assaulting the cops during this protest?

And the two policemen knocked to the ground and assaulted? Choked? Nose broken?

And the police cruiser littered with signs and graffiti?

Are all of those incidents not part of the protest?

I dont think we are supposed to know about the violence

Repeat the NYT's official DNC mantra until you believe it

subrob1967 -> RE: Love Those Protests (12/15/2014 5:28:29 PM)

Hmm lets see, a couple of idiots claiming to be Tea Party members are ridiculed here and the whole Tea Party movement is called racist because of their actions by our left wing loons, but if 100 protesters break off and go cause mayhem and massive property damage, the whole stupid movement is blameless?

You fucking hypocrites make me vomit.

I'm not saying it's white-wash peaceful, guys. I'm saying 24,900 protestors marched peacefully, while 0.4% went nuts.

The story is 0.4% went nuts, not that 24,900 pissed off people managed to protest peacefully.

Since you are so good with percentages perhaps you could tell me what the percentage of bad cops who caused this shit is?

Musicmystery -> RE: Love Those Protests (12/15/2014 8:08:25 PM)

Since your interest is sarcasm, pass.

I think folks would like to know what percentage of innocent victims at the hands of police is an acceptable percentage?

Excellent point

Terrible dodge though

Innocent? As close to zero as possible. It's not a perfect world so there are going to be tragic mistakes. The guy in Staten Island, for instance. Not acceptable. Michael Brown? Acceptable.

What percentage of dead cops...since the protestors made no distinction between bad or good cops...is acceptable?

Actually it was a sincere question but I am not surprised you chose not to answer it.

Lucylastic -> RE: Love Those Protests (12/16/2014 5:09:25 AM)

How would you find out the percentage of bad cops .....how is that possible? there are no such studies, bad cops tend to not want to be found out until its too late and someone is dead or injured.
To say its a serious question is truly idiotic.
But not surprised you expected to be taken seriously.

Yet despite the violence and other serious issues we must assume that the rioters are 99.999% pure of heart

I'm not approving, again.

But they didn't kill any cops. If they did, this would all look very different.

99.6%, actually -- 24,900 out of 25,000
