This isn't even close to my first time here, I know the workings of this site. Sad that things haven't changed all that much but it's no surprise. It's what I call "brave on the internet" and happens everywhere. BTW I didn't think you were replying to me personally sorry if it appeared you were.

I left the old CM because it became a cluster fuck of bitchiness on the forums. Things have changed and I think the new CS is really refreshing compared to how it was. Granted I don't read every thread on here but this is the first thread I've seen that looks disappointingly familiar to the threads of old that we used to regularly see on CM.

If it gets back to being like the old CM I might just flounce off [8|]

I agree wholeheartedly. I left for the same reason, that and the level of cliquishness was just too damn high. Like you I find the new and definitely improved CM (CS I suppose) to be improved but there are still people who circle and attack and that is just the nature of online chat boards. Still things are definitely better.

I definitely agree that the site is in a whole lot better shape than it was, even a year ago. I wasn't really meaning to "slam" the site. I was just pointing out something that seemed awfully familiar and may be a portent.

There has absolutely been a refreshing change here, over the last nine months or so. I hope it continues; which is why I pointed out the (currently) exception.

I remember when you left, Maria and we chatted a bit about it. I'm glad you decided to come back and I think it has paid off on both ends.

SeekingTrinity -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/28/2014 9:48:08 AM)

~FRing it~

I'll address the original subject. Do I find it amusing that some people delete a message unread? Honestly, no...I don't think much about it one way or the other. It happened once to me. But that was from someone who got pissy when I said "thank you for the message, but no thank you" and his reply was something profanity laced and nasty. My reply was that I wished him well in his search, which was deleted unread. I didn't laugh about it, I didn't come to this side to start a thread about it, I didn't feel like he was trying to get the last word, nor did I make any assumptions. I just moved on.

Life is just way too short to worry, stress, or laugh about the actions of some random stranger who happens to message me because of the profile on the other side. But this is just me and how I see it anyway.

MariaB -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/28/2014 10:38:23 AM)

I don't think you came over as slamming the site Michael. What you said is what I was thinking, hence the reply.

I'm glad I came back too...

thank you.

Findomming is being forced to give money

Sex workers sometimes also use the term. Presenting their job as a fetish can allow them to circumvent rules on some sites designed to prevent the rest of us getting spammed by commercial advertisements for commercial interests.

DesFIP -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/28/2014 2:19:22 PM)

If someone is forced to give money, I'd call that coercion, extortion and/or blackmail myself.
Findomming is telling some guy that you won't talk to him if he doesn't buy you stuff. And frequently claiming that you aren't going to talk to him anyway, that he should be happy to just give you his money.

Regardless, the op should however look at her profile pic to discover why she's getting so many guys who after she responded, decided she wasn't what they were looking for. It shows a girl sitting on the floor, staring down at the floor. It does not show a confident woman in stance. I'm certain that what was going on was that she was getting contacted by doms who wrote her solely based on the image she proferred as a profile pic and did not realize that she was not submissive until receiving a reply from her demanding tribute. At which point, of course they deleted the message unread and blocked her so they wouldn't write her again. Apparently, the op did not realize that blocking is frequently used as a way to prevent you writing someone you've decided you're uninterested in, and not solely used as a determination of the quality of the writing.

I'm retiring from this conversation as anything I say is met with disbelief. I could say I have met a lot of people from here and fetlife in the last 3 months and all ended well, but no point. I don't think you guys realise it, but most of your assumptions have been based on what I look like. For a fetish site I find that quite narrow minded.

I don't recall anyone mentioning your appearance so if you are not too busy flouncing off perhaps you could give an example. I also don't remember anyone putting you down for being a findomme, we just questioned your obvious ignorance about it. It was also offered as a reason you have trouble keeping a conversation going. But since you have had such great luck it makes me wonder why you started this thread in the first place. Why aren't you out playing with them?

Really? And how would that "force" come about?

At the point of a gun? Blackmail? Or not being allowed to do something within the BDSM realm unless you've PAID for it?

To the OP...

Nope, I don't find it amusing. A couple of times I've been slightly bewildered, but as a rule it simply means that the person has decided that they're not for me - Which is a wonderful time saver.

I have to say, that while I'm sure you're being completely honest with yourself and us when you say it doesn't bother you, I can certainly see how someone might come to the conclusion that you were a little bit piqued by it.

Definite probability, it could also be that some other women already beat her to their money or that they finished jerking off and decided that findom wasn't actually what they wanted after all.

SweetForDaddy -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/30/2014 11:17:10 AM)

The last time this happened with me I'd been speaking with someone for a few weeks, had sent the mail saying I didn't think we were compatible. Then he replied calling me a fake that was never going to meet anyone and was really quite unpleasant. When I replied to that mail he deleted unread. He was going to have the last word :-)

It did bother me a bit, I thought this person was rational and would just see it as incompatibility too, like a grown up. It was pretty nasty but I was glad to just not waste any more time. Dodging bullets!

I don't think I've ever had a first message deleted unread but I don't send very many first messages, I'm picky.

I've preview deleted a few myself if someone has already proved themselves to be a twat of momentous proportions but I don't delete unread anything else.

I do notice what goes on in my mail, peoples crazy mail reactions are always interesting :-)

I think it's more likely that people knew she was a domme and were just sending out form letters to her without reading her profile or skimming it. When she responded, they probably read her profile, saw she was after money, and blocked her. That seems more likely to me than that a great mass of people are missing that she lists herself as dominant.

While I mostly agree with you, I have to say that "great masses" of people miss that I am dominant every day.

About 1/5 of the messages I get are from dominant men, thinking I just need to "meet the right master."

Interesting that you say this. To my great great joy I've noticed that - unlike past times I've been here - since I've been back not a single male subbie or dom has contacted me not having read my profile and tried to hook up. Lots of them have looked at my profile yes but then they don't contact me. I thought maybe things had changed but I guess not.

slavedoguk -> RE: Deleted Unread (1/2/2015 4:46:46 PM)

Plainly dominants who ask for tributes for their servicesare fin dom(me)s and if they don't agree, they are in denial.
Its their denial that is offensive

SlaveHunter23 -> RE: Deleted Unread (1/2/2015 6:05:02 PM)

From my stats over the past 4 years.

I'd say the amount of responses are 10% of messages sent.

This includes me sending messages to people with blank profiles.

All submissives are being flooded.

The market of supply and demand... is high on demand, and low on supply.

It's similar to airforce barracks where there are 5 women and 500 men. Guess what? The girl's get really cocky. Due to the fact that they have a bunch of suitors. It's like any market.

Deleted unread usually means in my experience they are kind of fake. Idk why, but the majority that do that are usually not what they state themselves to be on the profile.

Often times the profile is gone 1 day later... it's a common pattern i noticed.

I wouldn't fret the deleted unread. Usually that is the mark of someone unable to control their emotion, or like i stated, maybe a man posing as a sub woman.

LiveSpark -> RE: Deleted Unread (1/2/2015 6:12:17 PM)

So SH in your experience those who delete unread are...fake? Really? I'm not the slightest bit fake but I do that. Are you aware that it's possible to hover over a message and read it? Maybe it's not so much that they're fake but that your messages are all that fascinating?

SlaveHunter23 -> RE: Deleted Unread (1/2/2015 6:15:11 PM)

I'm very aware of the hover.

I said most are fake... not that you are fake. Most meaning majority.

Which means you are the minority. Just in my experience. Over the past 4 years and probably... 3k msg sample size. sent out
