His only saving grace here is that even if true, the Colts didn't lose by less than 7 points, they were blown out.

Pete Rose gambled and was banned for life... Belichick cheats and will get into the hall of fame.

I think it's telling that after NE won their first SB, the NFL investigated allegations that Belicheat had video taped Rams practice sessions, before the big game. The NFL had video evidence. That evidence was "accidentally" destroyed while the NFL had possession.

The JAY! EEE! TEE! ESS! JETS!!! JETS!!! JETS!!! proved that Belicheat had video tape of their practices and NE was fined (But Belicheat paid out of his own pocket). Now, this.

I think this should be cause for, at least, a season's suspension, if not an expulsion. His reputation is tainted, to say the very least.

As I said on the other thread, I believe that the "deflated balls" were relegated to the Colts sideline.

But, it's all about perspective.

I LOVED Lyle's attitude ("I never met a man whose ass I didn't want to kick") but, it has to be done within the confines of the rules.

When Lyle played, chop blocks were allowed, spearing (leading with the helmet) was allowed (except in the most obvious and egregious cases), lots of things that are now considered un-necessary roughness were allowed.

The rules have been changed, some for the betterment of the game and some to the detriment of it (WTF is "taunting" and why is it banned? Are these guys THAT thin-skinned? "Warriors" my Irish ass!). Like it or not, we have hindsight which tells us that what Sean Payton did in 2012 was WRONG. You don't like the rules? Change 'em. You break the rules, you pay the price. To my mind, Payton didn't pay a high enough one.

Status: offline 		I hear ya and to certain extents I agree. With things like the 'no helmet to helmet' tackle..stuff like that is understandable. And you're right about Sean breaking the rules, but damn! Didn't that make for some great fucking football?

I loved Lyle too!!
I have to say though, the no showboating rule is horse shit, that's one of the best parts. Old rule but still!

Taunting? haven't heard of that.

One of the best playoff games ever? Did you watch the game? They played a horrific game and only won because Green Bay completely shat the bed at the end. I'm happy they won but you would need to be seriously high or suffering from a traumatic brain injury to think the Seahawks played well.
