What on has what it's taken you to get ready got to do with whether a guy should pay for a date? A guy doesn't dictate that you spend xxx amount to get ready. the offer from a woman to pay shouldn't be because he's being casual, or because she has been brought up differently to you, but because she has standards of independence of her own.

I have no expectations of a men other than he has good manners, and is polite. I have been brought up to have very high standards, and that if I want those standards then to rely on myself for them. It's a very backward view that a man should provide anything to a woman until there is an actual commitment. in fact it's just double standards. it's well enough if he offers, but he shouldn't feel obligated, and certainly not because she got her nails and hair done.

needles

That's fine, everyone has their own expectations. Just because my friend marries a dumb ass or an asshole doesn't mean I have to. I wasn't talking about ME, bahahaha. I have no problem taking Kitten on a date and picking up a tab. If I'm doing a better job than her man I'd be looking at her sideways like "whhhhhaaaa?" But respect her decision. Besides if I wanted to be a Stepford wife, are you kidding? That could have happened a long time ago, not for me.

Boy, I am riled up tonight!!!

Meh. If guys think that their wallet should matter, let them. If girls can get guys to pay for shit, fine. It's no big deal to me. Frankly, both are shallow if that is what matters to them.

The problem with the SugarDaddy relationship is how do you tell if the young woman is really interested in you as a person, or it's strictly your money?

Is this a serious question?

The best way to find out if a girl is interested in you is to not mention your bank balance, dress average, don't drive a flashy car and so on. If one of the first things they ask you is what do you do for a living... ask them if that matters. If it matters, ask them why. Tell them you are employed... that is all they need to know. If they keep pressing, tell them you are a super secret government spy and that you shouldn't even be telling her that, but you trust her enough to let her in on your little secret.

Just because she needs financial help doesn't mean she won't love you. I have a friend who has a profile on a Filipina dating site. His mailbox is full of young beautiful women who wants to meet him. Probably most of them are interested in the green card. But just because she wants a green card doesn't mean she won't love you.

How do you tell if she/he is authentically interested in you? He/she could just be a great salesperson selling themselves. And this doesn't have to involve money.

You really are quite naive.

Please, stop being practical and making sense, we might have a sensory overload. Yes, let's ignore the girl who goes to the used bookstore and date the girl with the Chanel purse and bling and then criticize her for having monetary expectations, LOL! Makes perfect sense. He could blow a girl away with his personality, sense of humor, GENUINELY GOOD nature but why? So much effort, ugh. [;)]

God, I wouldn't even recognise 'a Chanel purse and bling'. I wouldn't have the first idea, either, if a woman's bought her dress at Harrod's or at a charity shop.

Ok...dude!! I try to be the nice and helpful one and I have the patience of a saint with people who fail to see what is in front of them BUT read your own words there "mailbox full of young beautiful women that want to meet him". If there are that many chasing him..they are NOT doing it because of HIM. Yes, Cinderella would have moved into a squatter's shack if Prince Charming had been the middle aged village baker. Anastasia Steele would have let Christian Gray whip her even if he was on unemployment and living in his parent's basement.. The "escort" who claims that she enjoys your company so much she hates to take your money..Love IS blind but usually people have to KNOW you before deciding if they are truly interested in YOU. So if they are lining up like you say and they are on a website to meet American men...chances are they would not be on that website if it was to meet men in their country.

But, as Walt Disney says "dreams do come true and it could happen to you". I am going to grab a quart of Ben & Jerry's, go sit under a shooting star waiting for Santa Claus to bring my loving, supportive, muscle bound, independently wealthy, loves kids, dogs and long walks...dominant man of my dreams who will have one conversation with me and profess his undying love and whisk me off to the nearest church....BTW-the fiction section of the library is to your right!

Sorry, but I found someone already. I do have friends, but they are all poor, decrepit rapscallions that have bad breath and toenail fungus... but they are single and looking.

I'm helping.

I would ask her what her VL-335 Clearance was. If she didn't know... I would have no choice but to shoot her.

Edited to add:

THE ABOVE POST IS HUMOR. IT IN NO WAY SHOULD BE CONSTRUED AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PATHETIC ATTEMPT AT BEING FUNNY. NO PEOPLE WERE HARMED DUE TO THIS POSTING BUT A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF ELECTRONS WERE SEVERELY INCONVENIENCED.

"Fairy tales can come true. It could happen to you, if you're young at heart ..." was Frank Sinatra.

"When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are, everything your heart desires will come to you" was Walt Disney, via Jimminy Cricket.

The prior posts talking about spies and killing were humor. Please do not send mod3 questions on why they are not deleted, members banned or anything about money!

Really, I had to, you wouldn't believe my mail box. I'm peddling as fast as I can, the other way! Good night.

My apology.

I thought that it was clear that it was humor.

I will place a caveat on it next time.

Moderator3 -> RE: I Don't Understand About Women & Money (2/8/2015 10:28:03 PM)

lol No problem, you're fine. Just covering my rear and kind of having a laugh.

My peddle is broken. You may be stuck with me. Hide. Don't say I didn't warn you.

OMG I just saw the red. I'm blind. [:D]

No one who has ever dated could be this clueless.

Greta75 -> RE: I Don't Understand About Women & Money (2/9/2015 2:52:02 AM)

Wow, this is the interesting part. Why is it that you only meet women who keeps wanting you to pay for their stuffs?

I see some men lands self-reliant wealthy women who can afford everything themselves and even buy things for them.

So maybe the big question is, are you giving out a sugardaddy vibe to the girls you are meeting so you are attracting sugarbabies?

Let me just tell you that even if you meet an independent woman who never took a cent from you and earns her own dough, buys her own things, showers you with gifts, but she could still leave you when you go bankrupt because she loved you when you were able to make your own money and you had money. You will never know until the real test been tested.
Loving someone is unconditional, you don't worry if they love you back genuinely, if you love someone, you just are happy if that person is happy.

I say this with clarity as, I'm a woman who was breadwinner and supported my x-husband financially. I did it because I loved him. As simple as that. He could have been with me then, because I was his sugar, but I didn't care, I took care of him because I wanted to.

So you advocate not talking about anything important to you in your life. I presume that you're fine with her not telling you anything about her?

If you keep your life a secret, expect her to do the same. Which means no trust and no possibility of a loving relationship.

I have to think this was a joke post, Gauge. I'm only hoping the op, who seems awfully naive for a man of his age, doesn't take it as real advice.
