~FRing it~

We have no rules as far as contact goes with the exception of contact at least once every two weeks via text, calls, or email. We are long distance, but have never been into online BDSM. It allows us time to take care of business in our personal lives, but maintain the incredible connection we have.

DS, Can I ask why only 3 contacts per week?

In my personal experience, that's the minimum it takes to keep a relationship going.

DS- that's the minimum not the maximum correct? I think that is what Sin is getting at.

It only works because my T/ is Vulcan so my sadism must be logical and have a purpose (usually entertainment value is enough).

Aliens are not a limit, ET, and of course bi is all the rage and trendy these days.

I never considered there to be a maximum.

I don't understand this question either.

If someone is into me and I am into them, we should be in contact daily.

Not sure what minimum/maximums have to with this. That sounds cold to me.

If someone does not take the time for me, I don't want him.

Ha! Love it.
As far as OP goes, I stay in touch with my collared daily, throughout the day in between my hobbies, work, family and friends.
When subs are wishy washy and use work as the excuse I tend to friendzone them quickly. Even quicker when MIA during the weekends. I do like engaging lifestyle people on an online format though, even if it's to just play catch up or ask about my NGK spark plug on my new bike..vroom vroom!
My collared is kind of awesome though. And he's cuter with facial hair imo. He also showers me with attention which is so very lovely so I'm careful to let him know when I'll be preoccupied.

As a Dom, how often you do establish contact with your online/long distance sub: every few days, every couple of weeks, or just whenever you're at a loose end and want to get your kink on?

Do you have the opposite view, that the sub should do the running, show their interest, make the contacts etc.

I was LD with my Pet for a year. Now that we are in the same town, we still keep up the same communication.

We use text as our primary method of communication. A slow day will see 50 messages or so. An average day will see 250. I know we've gone for 1200+ on some weekend days, as we do chores, or whatever.

We use the phone a few times a week, to discuss things that are a bit deeper than text (although we usually have several levels of conversation going—text, email and phone about the same topic).

We use emails for longer discussions and to forward things we've received.

And FaceTime every now and again.

We are in regular contact, and I prefer it that way.

I believe it is my responsibility to show him that I am interested, but it is his responsibility to reciprocate.

With others, I expect contact based on their personalities. Some, I hear from a few times per day, some more. If I do not hear from them for a day, that can be OK, depending on who they are, but 2-3 days would suggest I am just not on their radar any longer, and I would let them know that things were going backwards.

Sir and I are in continual contact, even though we are married. Since I am a Domestic Goddess and am in charge of all things pertaining to the Castle, I have time to keep in contact. His job is computer based, so email is our form of communication throughout the day. If we get busy, we tell the other person, because there is a set rule of 2 hours. Break the rule, and well, things start going into 'concerned' mode, then into 'emergency' mode. It was hard for me at first, but now it's just natural. Even before I moved down here, we lived over 12 hours apart, the contact was the same. Weekends afforded video chatting and text, weekdays email and phone.

ETA: Tyrant and Sin are the most adorable couple I know, HAHA!

Daily sounds about right.

It could be a morning wake up call, a story at night, a random thought shared. Maybe some advice on lunch, a funny picture, a little venting. It could be a quick hello on Skype, a handwritten letter, an email showing you named a star after them.

But the thing to remember above all else is that it's NEVER the volume of contact, it's what happens when it's there.

IMister Man is up north looking after his ailing mother while also helping his dad out. Since I suffer from extreme bouts of depression & anxiety, it's even tougher for me. He calls as often as possible, he texts, I do the same. At this point I just want him home, our home.

I don't know if this is relevant or not just my worth.

My master had been contacting me every day at first, and it slowly declined to first one day of no contact. Then two... three... no explanation other than he is "busy". I do not suppose that he has been steadily getting busier and busier, or if he really is getting so busy that he can't talk to me for days, then I don't think he has enough time for a slave, or for any relationship. I am about to declare him Missing In Action and walk away from him because I don't feel wanted or valued.

Sorry to hear that.....but I can definitely say "Been there....done that....have a few of the T-shirts"

I should probably start a new topic with this, but this has brought up another question for me.....

But my question is.....are we talking here only about established relationships where each person has said "I am you Dom/Master...you are my sub/slave" and "I am your sub/slave....you are my Dom/Master". Or are we also talking about times when we are just getting to know each other we are really interested in?

I always want to show interest....when I am interested, but I don't want to be pushy and I don't want to EXPECT anything from someone I want to know better.

I knew a Dom who's signature line was "I'm not the Navy....I don't chase subs"

Every time I read that, I couldn't help but wonder....welll....does that mean he wants the subs to chase him? And if that's the case, how are the subs supposed to know that they aren't wasting their time? Does he ever show interest and to what degree? How is any relationship supposed to happen if they don't equally chase each other?
