ORIGINAL: Kirata 8th Grade Class Receives Immigration Assignment that Leaves One Dad Shaking His Head At Shattuck Middle School in Wisconsin, one 8th grade class was assigned homework on the topic of immigration policy in the United States using the following illustration... [image]http://www.collarchat.com/upfiles/235229/4D513179B40440B5B8FA50ABD85569F6.jpg[/image] The homework assignment asks: Who are the men in the picture (What is their job? Look at what they are doing for a hint) What are they building? What do the symbols on their shirts represent? What is action being done by each man? What might this mean to us about immigration and citizenship? What could possibly be wrong with this? Jim Strick, the Communications Director for the Neenah Joint School District, confirmed to IJ Review that Davis did in fact assign the politically-charged worksheet. However, Strick was adamant that the assignment was not intended to shape the children’s political views... Yeah, no. Nothing wrong here. The image is quite neutral. Its showing a slice of American history (very recent US History). It shows the Democrats helping people enjoy being free and Republicans as the scum they are. Nope, don't see any problem with it. Its not politically charged, because anyone with half a brain could tell this image is an all true statement about the two major political parties on the topic of immigration. What? Dont have half a brain? quote:
ORIGINAL: Kirata Wisconsin Mom Alarmed at What School Quiz Suggests Conservatives Think About the Poor Students at Nathan Hale High School were asked to place this and other statements on a political spectrum... We should not help the poor, it’s a waste of money. The answer scored as correct is Conservative/Republican. [image]https://static.ijreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/WisconsinTest-770x330.jpg[/image] The student’s mother told Fox News the correction bothered her son... “We tend to only see what they are learning as parents when they need our assistance on something. I think that all parents need to realize that there are things taught sometimes to their kids that aren’t true or at best are misleading.” This is what they want more money to teach? Dont see any problem here either..... The statement: "We should not help the poor, it’s a waste of money.", is indeed a conservative/Republican viewpoint. Should we not teach students true information rather that political ideology? Saying that conservative/Republican viewpoint of helping the poor and its a good use of the taxpayer money, would be a falsehood. Its the stuff FOX 'new's would try to pass off as true. Not just wrong but ridiculous. Let me first say that I am more in line with the Republican point of view on immigration. That said, I see nothing wrong or misleading in the first picture. Obama is trying to build a pathway to make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens. Is he, or is he not? That is exactly what is depicted in the picture. The Republican stance on immigration is for the illegal immigrants to not have that ease of becoming citizens. Is that, or is that not correct? To me, that is exactly what is depicted in the picture. 100% accurate. As far as the second picture. . .I seem to remember a Mitt Romney speech concerning the 47%. Directly in line with the corrected answer in the second picture. Again, it seems accurate to me. Instead of simply saying, "Not just wrong but ridiculous," how about giving the reasons you feel it's wrong and/or ridiculous?
