Thanks guys - I need know no more. She's clearly a headbanger and not worth reading. [:D]

Ah, of course, that's a perfect intellectual decision to make. I get ya.

"Professor: That Ben Shapiro Is A Total Neo-Nazi"

quote:

California State University-Los Angeles is still reeling from a visit by Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro. Sponsored by Young America’s Foundation, Shapiro gave a lecture on February 25, where his conservative, non-politically correct speech left many in the cupcake brigade triggered. So, on May 17, they held a healing space event, which was attended by CSULA’s president, where he says he would have never invited Shapiro on campus, and Melina Abdullah, the department chair of Pan-African Studies, who called Shapiro a “Neo-Nazi.”

quote:

“This is kid of this ongoing conversation about the specificity of anti-blackness, and that’s what I think what we see with Ben Shapiro. So, even if you decided you’re going to let this Neo-Nazi on campus, right? And I get he’s Jewish, so that’s ironic that I’m calling him a neo-Nazi, right? But that’s basically what he is the equivalent—a neo-KKK member, let’s call him that, right?...What I’m hearing is students come into my office and feeling traumatized…feeling brutalized—physically, emotionally, and mentally.”

Oh, c’mon, lady. It’s a speech—not a riot. It’s conservatism, not ultra-nationalistic fascism. It’s your students exuding an appalling weakness towards other people’s views. Then again, this is California, but the fact that people are still throwing tantrums over something that happened last winter isn’t normal.

"School sends sheriff to order child to stop sharing Bible verses"

[the title's a bit of an exaggeration but still...]

quote:

A public school in California ordered a 7-year-old boy to stop handing out Bible verses during lunch – and they dispatched a deputy sheriff to the child’s home to enforce the directive.

“This is a clear, gross violation of the rights of a child,” said Horatio Mihet, a Liberty Counsel attorney representing the first-grader who attends Desert Rose Elementary School in Palmdale. They are also representing his parents, Christina and Jaime Zavala.

Mrs. Zavala made it a practice of including a Bible verse and encouraging note in her son’s lunch bag. The boy would tell his friends about the note and read them aloud at the lunch table.

It wasn’t long before children asked for copies of the notes and Mrs. Zavala obliged – including a brief note to explain the daily Bible verse.

On April 18 a teacher called Mrs. Zavala and said her son would no longer be able to share the Bible verses because he was “not allowed to share such things while at school.”

Liberty Counsel said the school would only allow the child to distribute the Bible verses outside the school gate – after the bell rang.

They say the teacher told Mrs. Zavala that her son “could no longer read or share Bible verses or stories at lunch” – citing “separation of church and state.”

So, Mr. and Mrs. Zavala complied with the school’s clearly unconstitutional edict...

But on May 9, the school’s principal decided to implement a complete ban on the Bible verse sharing.

Liberty Counsel alleges the boy was ordered to stop handing out notes because “it was against school policy.” The principal told the boy and his father to move to a public sidewalk. They complied with the principal’s demand.

It would be just a few hours later – when the Zavala family heard a knock at their front door.

“The deputy sheriff said he had been sent by the school,” Liberty Counsel attorney Richard Mast told me. “The deputy went on to tell the parents that the school was worried that someone might be offended by the Bible verses.”

Liberty Counsel said the deputy sheriff was not belligerent or threatening. The family was not served with any sort of legal documents. It appeared to be a “friendly” warning.

“It was outrageous and should shock the conscious of every freedom-loving American,” Mihet told me. “Apparently all the real criminals have been dealt with in Palmdale – and now they’re going after kids who share Bible verses during lunch time.”...

“I would expect something like this to happen in Communist Romania – where I went to elementary school – but cops don’t bully 7-year-olds who want to talk about Jesus in the Land of the Free,” Mihet said.

Students do not check their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse door, he said.

“If students are permitted to pass out Valentine or birthday cards at school or to talk about Superman and Captain America at lunch, they cannot be prohibited from sharing Bible verses and discussing their faith during their free, non-instructional time,” Mihet told me.

Liberty Counsel is demanding the school stop its policy of suppressing and censoring student religious speech. If they fail to comply, the school could face a federal lawsuit.

And for good measure – we can only hope that Liberty Counsel will use a deputy sheriff to hand deliver the lawsuit to the school’s principal.

[oh no comrades, fox news!]

more:

quote:

Liberty Counsel has demanded that Desert Rose Elementary School correct an outrageous violation of a first grader’s constitutional rights. The situation started with an encouraging note and Bible verse from mom Christina Zavala, tucked into a packed lunch for her little boy ("C"). The seven-year-old boy read the note and verse, and showed them to his friends during lunch time at school.

Mrs. Zavala’s daily note for her son soon turned into an expectation by the other children during lunch, who excitedly begged C for copies of the notes, which grew to include short stories from the Bible to provide context for the verses.

However, when one little girl said "teacher - this is the most beautiful story I’ve ever seen," "separation of church and state" was the response, and the notes were banned from lunchtime distribution. C was told that the school gate was the only location at which he could give the Bible verses to his friends, and only after the bell rang.

On April 19, 2016, Mrs. Zavala wrote the school to correct its misinformation, but the only response was that C was reprimanded again, in front of the whole class, and again told to stop talking about religion or sharing his mother’s notes. C returned home in tears.

The Zavalas and C complied with the school gate directive, and soon, as many as 15 fellow students looked forward to the after-school Bible notes. However, on May 9, 2016, Principal Melanie Pagliaro approached Mr. Zavala at that location, and demanded that C only hand out the notes on a public sidewalk, far from the exit, off school property. The family immediately complied.

Later that day, however, a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff knocked at the door of C's home, demanding that C's note sharing cease altogether because "someone might be offended." C’s family then asked Liberty Counsel to help protect their child's constitutional freedoms.

This is a clear, gross violation of the rights of a child. That the school district enlisted a police officer to intimidate C and his family makes this case even more outrageous. "I would expect something like this to happen in Communist Romania, where I went to elementary school, but cops don't bully 7-year-olds who want to talk about Jesus in the Land of the Free"said Horatio "Harry" Mihet, Esq., Vice President of Legal Affairs & Chief Litigation Counsel of Liberty Counsel.

"Anthropologists Discover Remains of Open Minded Feminist"

quote:

People sometimes tell me they would never send their children to a public university because the campuses are overrun with liberal feminists. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most of these campuses are overrun with leftists posing as liberal feminists, not true liberal feminists. There’s a huge difference. A recent evaluation I found on Rate My Professors illustrates the distinction:

"I took Mike Adams' class because I read his articles and heard about how horrific he was. And the truth is that he is by far the best professor I've ever had. He is hysterically funny and ridiculously smart. He cares about his students and if you make an effort, he duly notes it. This class alone made me want to go into law. Highly recommend him."

These evaluations are anonymous but students usually tip their hand when writing them. The author of this one is a feminist who enrolled in one of my introductory level courses. Several characteristics of her thinking show that she’s actually a liberal, rather than a leftist. In case you missed them, here they are:

1. She actively seeks out opinions contrary to her own. Note that this student read my articles before enrolling in the class. And please note that “articles” is plural. After reading the first one, which surely presented her with at least one idea running contrary to her worldview, she kept on reading. This is the antithesis of the “safe space” mentality, which is espoused by campus leftists seeking to be insulated at all times from ideas that run contrary to their own.

2. She is undeterred by pressure to engage in intellectual conformity. Note also that she had heard how “horrific” I was before enrolling in the class. This probably means that both her feminist friends and her leftist feminist professors discouraged her from taking the class – probably through the use of ad hominem attacks on the instructor. Nonetheless, she decided to resist the pressure to conform intellectually to her surroundings. In other words, she resisted the leftist mob mentality and decided to think and act as an individual.

3. She has a sense of humor. Do you know how many feminists it takes to change a light bulb? If you are a feminist and you just said, “That’s not funny” you’re also a leftist. If you paused and waited for the punch line, you just might be a liberal.

4. She does not dismiss disagreement as evidence of intellectual inferiority. After taking my class for a whole semester, this student arrived at the conclusion that I am “ridiculously smart,” (not just ridiculous). Realistically, there is no chance that after just a semester she now agrees with all or even most of my points of view. In all likelihood, there is still a Grand Canyon sized gap between our views on most issues. Yet the student refuses to accept the leftist idea that the people with whom we disagree must be stupid. In other words, she understands that tolerance is not about celebrating people who espouse your views. It’s about truly coexisting with people who don’t. Tolerance presupposes intellectual and moral judgments.5. She recognizes that reinforcement should be tied to performance.

5. Finally, and perhaps most notably, this student recognizes that my concern for students is not unconditional. She notes that I care about students if they “make an effort.” Furthermore, she seems to be applauding the fact that my concern for students is contingent on their willingness to work. This is a clear rejection of the idea that people are simply entitled to things based upon group membership, rather than individual attributes. The leftist mob mentality is not the same as the liberal view that people deserve fair compensation for their efforts....

[W]e have a real shortage of truly liberal feminist professors. In fact, I can say without hesitation that the young feminist professors I work with are the least qualified I’ve ever seen. They are intellectually insecure, hyper-conformist, humorless, intolerant, and wildly biased in their treatment of their students – often grading them on the basis of group membership, rather than performance.

regressive de-education is all about nutsuckerism, factlessness and creationism, anything hallucinatory.
