perpetually offended about youngsters deciding the way you want things is not what they want
as I said, remove that mote from your eye.
The only "perpetually" offended is you and other men hating what the next gen feels is important at that stage in their lives., you just take the piss, there isnt ONE group mentioned more than once, so "perpetually offended" Is actually dishonest bullshit.
Plus my additions have been ignored roundly by you chaps.

What I want is to preserve freedom of speech and academic freedom against this onslaught of insanity. It's kinda like stopping someone experiencing a psychotic break from committing suicide, yanno?

... Though McCarthy cooked up an awful lot of names and, with the HUAC, managed to feed terror to the nation. To me, two of the effects were indeed, and as you pointed out earlier, a kind of self-infantalizing and an attempt (actually, quite marked success) at controlling and stifling of speech (as well as a lot of thought behind such speech).

My first thought when reading your first thought is. . . Ummm. . . silly Brit. McCarthy had nothing to do with the HUAC.
