Imagine how he'll feel once he stops insulting people long enough to read the thread and realize how easy it is to find a perpetually offended group on the left.

From feminists: http://thefederalist.com/2014/11/17/its-time-to-push-back-against-feminist-bullies/

To gays: http://www.frontporchrepublic.com/2012/06/gays-acting-badly-in-the-white-house-a-comparative-study/

To progressives...standing up for minorities: http://chicksontheright.com/blog/item/26643-the-latest-example-of-progressives-being-hypersensitive-perpetually-offended-hosebeasts-and-shutting-down-a-charitable-event

I don't know whether people will bother to read the links you posted, but (note to Peon) they're right on the money as far as the topic and the OP's motivations for starting it are concerned. Thanks.

K.

K, there will always be *millions* of such examples. Which is really my point: your thread title is easily translatable to something like, 'List all the things you don't like about things that offend lefties'. And that's pretty much all that people have done - along with a few of their best chortles and a merest sprinkling of offhand analysis.

Some of the things that have been posted I've seen as worth defending; others not so much. (Many, of course, are little more than propaganda, of course.) But, really, there's little point. The thread reads like a hotchpotch of copies and pastes from one or more of the right wing newspapers or TV news stations - Fox or the UK's Daily Mail, for instance. Nobody would have the time or energy to counter everything that's belched out with such eternal vigour by such media and their internet equivalents.

As a 'riposte' to this thread one could, I suppose, start a thread entitled something like "The Latest Nuttiness of the Looney Right" ... but - again - really, what's the point? To demonstrate that lefties and righties here find different things irksome and for different reasons (that they see as bad for society as a whole, etc, etc)? Is there anybody here who isn't only too aware of that already?

One could find posts like that. But google these two words, Peon:
"Perpetually Offended". See which side of the aisles most groups that come up are.

By the way...if you'll take note, none of my perpetually offended items came from FOX News. And if they did, would it matter? I challenge you to not find a group...somewhere...either involved in these cases or whose rationale fits these cases.

lovmuffin -> RE: News from the Society for the Perpetually Offended (6/14/2015 7:58:14 PM)

Here's one

http://www.youngcons.com/look-what-happens-when-one-muslim-says-she-is-offended-by-a-sign-of-bacon/

Local Winooski, Vermont restaurant Sneakers Bistro has removed a sign that read, “Yield Sneakers Bacon” citing opposition from a Muslim community member and safety concerns.

The sign was put up as part of a city program that allows businesses to post an advertisement in an area where they have helped maintain city flowerbeds. The sign that read “Yield Sneakers Bacon” was removed after a woman, identifying herself as a Muslim, posted in an online community forum, stating she was personally offended by the sign, according to a WPTZ News report. WPTZ wrote that the woman who complained online called the sign “insensitive to those who do not consume pork.”

The part I don’t understand is the restaurant owner claims one of the reasons the bacon sign was removed was over “safety concerns.” Did they think the Muslims in the community would riot and burn the business down? If that’s the reason they should not have done it.

Giving in to terror simply emboldens the terrorists!

The woman who was offended needs to get a grip, or perhaps move to an Islamic country that practices the sharia law she clearly wants.
She could live in a place where Sharia law is practiced. She would get beheaded if she had sex with anyone other than her husband, but at least there are no bacon signs.

I do not support sexism, by and large. But I did not see the remarks as particularly sexist. There have been no reports of him behaving sexist in his work or with his students and such. A funny remark that stereotypes women? Meh. A lot of comedy is based on stereotypes.

I do find it ironic that the crying comment was taken as criticism of women and essentially caused a bunch of women to cry about it.

I also thought that likening it to blaming rape victims to be jumping the shark.

After that bald face quote above they should investigate her sanity, her teachers sanity and the sanity of who ever hasn't fired her yet.
I recall you mentioning that. We were all tall king about white privilege and male privilege and heterosexual privilege. God help you if you are:

1. Male

2. A white male

3. A straight white male

You're fucked.

Well, I have thoughts on that. For instance, once I was accused of sexual harassment at work. It was eventual discovered that the "woman" who did it had gone done to the HR office and informed them that a managerial position would soon be opening and if they didn't hire her, she would sue them for sexual discrimination. Then she accused me to get me fired so the position would be vacant. My job and my career was placed in jeopardy. Once it was found out this "woman" was lying, the Black, female, affirmative action officer determine not to fire me but, rather, to send me to sexual harassment training where for two days I had to sit through being told the whole thing was my fault since I was a white male. The "woman" was promoted elsewhere. After living through that I realized just exactly what you said. I'm helpless as a white male. Well, at least now I can claim age discrimination, but not then. So, I'm very aware of what you're saying.

However, I also realized that they couldn't discriminate against a cultural group. So, as is actually true, I began to claim that I am a redneck. Which actually is a group. I watched myself but I used their own tactics against them. When, for instance, a woman would complain because I'd said "good morning guys" to a mixed groups of males and females, which did happen more than once, I was able to claim that in my culture "guys" is gender non-specific. It took quick thinking because, as you may realize, there is no ever satisfying them except to shut up and let them control things. But, it helped along with being very careful.

However, what that eventually lead to is my extreme joy to come to places like this and treat them exactly the way they treat others. They are so used to being little controlling tyrants that itbis exquisitly sublime for me to treat them like they've never been treated before and watch them get all historical. You may have seen me do that sort of thing here. It makes up for a lot of BS. While, it's tragic that sort of thing still exists, I'm pleased I'm at a point in my life where I dont, nor need to, give a flying fuck. It's uplifting really.

Kirata -> RE: News from the Society for the Perpetually Offended (6/14/2015 11:57:34 PM)

Speaking for myself, I do not recall posting any links to Fox or the Daily Mail. But I have noticed that some of the stories were covered by one or the other of those sources. So what? More to the point, the thread was in no way intended to exploit the simple divergence in left-right views that you describe. Without going case by case, most of this shit affords status to contrived grievances and elevates narcissistic rage to a virtue. To treat individuals as representatives of some intersection of race, class and gender is depersonalizing, and commits the very offense that it claims to be denouncing. The notion that this kind of pathological nonsense serves the greater good of "social justice" is nothing more or less than putting lipstick on a pig.

UPDATE: Rachel Dolezal, President of the N.A.A.C.P. in Seattle, has resigned and turned over the reins to the Vice-President.

“It is with complete allegiance to the cause of racial and social justice and the NAACP that I step aside from the Presidency and pass the baton to my Vice President, Naima Quarles-Burnley,” she wrote.

Dolezal said that her chapter in Spokane has been dedicated to fighting against injustices the African-American community faces, such as police brutality, biased school curriculums and economic disenfranchisement.

“And yet, the dialogue has unexpectedly shifted internationally to my personal identity in the context of defining race and ethnicity,” she wrote.

Last week, Dolezal's racial identity became a major news story after Lawrence and Ruthanne Dolezal, a white couple from Montana, identified themselves as her biological parents.

They said their daughter is mainly of German and Czech descent, despite the fact that she identified herself publicly as biracial and implied her biological father is black.

In an interview with The Spokesman-Review, when she was asked to identify her race, she said: “There’s a lot of complexities … and I don’t know that everyone would understand that.”

Dolezal again seemed to touch on the idea of fluid racial identity in her resignation lstter, when she wrote that challenging the “construct of race” is central to “evolving human consciousness.”

http://news.yahoo.com/rachel-dolezal-resigns-as-leader-from-naacp-spokane-chapter--160937684.html

In other words:

I am not really BLACK. BUT...I identify as black so I should be able to live as black (fuck the complexities...I've done, arguably, better as a black woman than I would've as a white woman. This way, I can claim 'victim' on TWO fronts) since racial identity is fluid.
(ever-changing...Hmmm, let's ask someone who's really black or brown or white...And proud if it...if they feel that way).

What is sexism PS? Is it white woman sexism? Is it black woman sexism? Is it transgendered woman sexism? I think as a man you should feel shame for being sexist against Aylee, who are you to define sexism. You're just an old angry white male. You can't understand.

You are just an old troll, cut from the same cloth as sanity.

I havent shown any sexism towards Aylee despite your bullshit post.

The link is easy to follow, well it is for most people. Outdated views such as Tim Hunts, especially given where he was when he made them, lead to thinking such as that described by Perkins..... That inturn leads to sexual abuse, as shown by the attitudes of sexual abusers (she was asking for it, dressing like a slut etc etc)

Aylee has, quite rightly, spoken up about sexual abuse, so she should at least get the point as to where the thinking behind it making it somehow okay, comes from.

I wonder if I can be transpecies and make my work buy me a hamster wheel to accommodate me. I always thought a hamster wheel was more cool than a treadmill or elliptical.

It's easy for you to make fun of people you don't understand. You have no idea how I've suffered being transclass. You can't even begin to imagine what it's like being a rich kid born into the #WrongFamily. If you had any compassion and sense of social justice, you would be sending me money instead of cracking jokes.

The "what else" is white. The story below is from the Washington Post:

Rachel Dolezal sued Howard for racial discrimination. Because she was white.

More from The Smoking Gun here:

As detailed in the court opinion, Dolezal’s lawsuit contended that Howard was “permeated with discriminatory intimidation, ridicule, and insult.” Judge Zoe Bush dismissed Dolezal’s complaint in February 2004, 18 months after the lawsuit was filed and Dolezal was deposed on several occasions. Bush found no evidence that Dolezal was discriminated on the basis of race or other factors. The D.C. Court of Appeals subsequently affirmed Bush’s decision. Following the dismissal of Dolezal’s lawsuit (and the Court of Appeals decision), she was ordered to reimburse Howard for a “Bill of Costs” totaling $2728.50. During the case, she was also ordered to pay the university nearly $1000 in connection with an “obstructive and vexatious” court filing that sought to improperly delay her examination by an independent doctor.

Apparently her catalog of grievances is as fluid as her racial identity.

You know what will happen don't you? In a couple of decades the left will have her in the elementary school history books as a proud example of a pioneer.

Maybe it was "archetypal memory" coming into play...you know, the subconscious memories of those she thinks should have been her ancestors ingrained on her subconscious.
