"We're all of us terrified," she said. "In this media age, when sound bites spread so quickly, an off-the-cuff remark after a lunch in some conference can suddenly result in the fatal destruction of your career."

From the link:

Hunt's fall followed a speech Tuesday at the World Conference of Science Journalists in South Korea in which he said that girls cause trouble in labs because "you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them, they cry" . . . He was vilified by many, including The Guardian's Anne Perkins, who wrote that his comments were "the educated man's version" of blaming rape victims because they were wearing short skirts before they were attacked.

Jeeeez.

From people that can read..... Go figure.

The Guardian was the first newspaper to break the stoy on "Prism" data collection. It also won the 2014 British Press award for reporting on government surveillence. Before you spout off with your usual bollocks, try and take in what I have just said.

Okay, I'm trying to figure out if that's funny or not. Are you referring to Sanity being referred to authority by a school teacher, which would be funny, or a school teacher might use the guardian in class, which wouldn't happen here?

Girls are distracted by boys and boys get distracted by girls. . . where is the sexism? And why aren't the guys crying over having science ruined forever for them?

And what kind of shirt was Tim Hunt wearing?

And why was Goldsmiths, University of London “diversity” officer, Bahar Mustafa's, racist, sexist anti-white male comments hunky-dory?

A movie with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher.

Ah, but I'm still wondering if what Peon said was funny or not. While I didn't see the movie and would never have guessed it, I don't think that applies to Peon's case.

Politesub53 -> RE: News from the Society for the Perpetually Offended (6/14/2015 5:15:14 PM)

You seem to only support sexism when it suits you Aylee..... Read Perkins article in full and try and grasp the context.

My post was about Anne Perkins not Bahar Mustafa but since you ask, her comments were out of line and the MET Police are investigating her #killallwhitemen Tweet

LMAOROTF. A science dork of renown understanding in his field is cahstised for not being aware of women and equated to some rape model. He's a dork. He's a dork because is brain sees a different world. He knows that.

http://www.paulcooijmans.com/intelligence/sex_differences.html

He's one of the outliers like Einstein that can't be compared to anything. Jees, I had a physics professor who did his graduate work under Einstein. He told us, Einstein would walk to and from work. When he left the house his family would call the grads and report the time he left. When he left to walk home the grads would call his house and report the time he left. They did that because Einstein would often just start thinking while he was walking and forget everything else and just walk and think. If he didn't show up at an appointed time, people would be sent out to find him because at some point he just kept walking and missed a turn. Jees, before feminism, that was a good thing.

No worries Aylee

According to the Guardian, the poor victim (Bahar Mustafa) is enjoying a good amount of support... And the placement in the article makes the tweet appear entirely trivial

What is sexism PS? Is it white woman sexism? Is it black woman sexism? Is it transgendered woman sexism? I think as a man you should feel shame for being sexist against Aylee, who are you to define sexism. You're just an old angry white male. You can't understand.

God I so love this!!!

Quote from bahar mustafa

quote:

“I, as an ethnic minority woman, cannot be racist or sexist towards white men, because racism and sexism describe structures of privilege based on race and gender,” she said.

“And therefore women of colour and non-binary genders cannot be racist or sexist as we do not stand to benefit from such a system.

When was it that I said they've defined the meanings to they can say what they want and not have the rules apply to them?

After that bald face quote above they should investigate her sanity, her teachers sanity and the sanity of who ever hasn't fired her yet.

And the Guardian whitewashing the story in her favor that way... Just makes for a glaring example of how far over on the loony tunes left they are

Imagine how he'll feel once he stops insulting people long enough to read the thread and realize how easy it is to find a perpetually offended group on the left.

From feminists: http://thefederalist.com/2014/11/17/its-time-to-push-back-against-feminist-bullies/

To gays: http://www.frontporchrepublic.com/2012/06/gays-acting-badly-in-the-white-house-a-comparative-study/

To progressives...standing up for minorities: http://chicksontheright.com/blog/item/26643-the-latest-example-of-progressives-being-hypersensitive-perpetually-offended-hosebeasts-and-shutting-down-a-charitable-event

I don't know whether people will bother to read the links you posted, but (note to Peon) they're right on the money as far as the topic and the OP's motivations for starting it are concerned. Thanks.

K.

K, there will always be *millions* of such examples. Which is really my point: your thread title is easily translatable to something like, 'List all the things you don't like about things that offend lefties'. And that's pretty much all that people have done - along with a few of their best chortles and a merest sprinkling of offhand analysis.

Some of the things that have been posted I've seen as worth defending; others not so much. (Many, of course, are little more than propaganda, of course.) But, really, there's little point. The thread reads like a hotchpotch of copies and pastes from one or more of the right wing newspapers or TV news stations - Fox or the UK's Daily Mail, for instance. Nobody would have the time or energy to counter everything that's belched out with such eternal vigour by such media and their internet equivalents.

As a 'riposte' to this thread one could, I suppose, start a thread entitled something like "The Latest Nuttiness of the Looney Right" ... but - again - really, what's the point? To demonstrate that lefties and righties here find different things irksome and for different reasons (that they see as bad for society as a whole, etc, etc)? Is there anybody here who isn't only too aware of that already?

I recall you mentioning that. We were all tall king about white privilege and male privilege and heterosexual privilege. God help you if you are:

1. Male

2. A white male

3. A straight white male

You're fucked.
