I've been on and off this site and I've posted before. However, some people have recognize me from my previous Screen Names and say I'm a fraud and fake because I'm just on a few days, can't find anything, then delete my profile. I'm not on long enough for anyone to take me seriously. So this is what I have to say:

1. I'M ON HERE FOR THE LONG RUN
2. Everyone has their preferences. Everyone has their kinks and fetishes. Yet, everyone gives other people a hard time for their preferences.

Why do people harass other people for their preferences?

If you are really looking for a long term relationship, why won't you go to munch? Why won't you go to events? As to your preferences for your future partner, I don't care what they are. Just know that when online looking for a 20 something female hottie, the vast majority will not be what you seek. They will actually be men. They might be older women. No sense in complaining about it. It's part of the internet. As I said in my last post, if you can't deal with it, then throw away the computer.

Again, to find a real time person who does this real time, go to the places where the real time people hang out. This means munches. If you do not know where you nearest munch meets, do an internet search using your state or city and the word munch. Events are also a good place to find a partner. That's how I met mine. We lived 650 miles apart but an event we both attended brought us together. Heck, you live in a place where there are munches and clubs all over the place. Get away from your computer screen. Wow that beautiful sexy Domme with your personality. Words typed online just won't do what face to face can do.

Want to know how to not be maligned?

Stop deleting your profiles.

This is not a nice place for newcomers. So join in on the message boards and keep the same handle.

If you show up with "Posts: 1" no one is going to take you seriously - because it's obvious you aren't being serious.

OK, I'll bite...

Who is harassing people for their preferences?

Give examples. Pictures if you have them. Documentation. Circles and arrows on the backs and a paragraph explaining each photo.

Yes, you are right, I'm sorry. I need to do that. I have a hard time getting around going places. I apologize. I do need to go to munches.

I'm sorry. I really don't mean to take up your time. I know that you have been on here a long time and probably tired of people who are just on for a short time. I made a comment on the "Pig Bank" forum and people started to harrass me about my preferences. I don't know how to do the pictures, arrows and stuff. I'm sorry.

No need to say you are sorry. Just go to the munch. Make friends. Do not expect to find that perfect partner at the first munch you attend or the second or the third. Just keep going and make friends. Eventually you might find that lady you seek.

As a moderator, I am seeing some things that are slightly disturbing. New forum posters are not picked on because they are new. They tend to step into something that could be going south on their own or by way of another poster. It isn't because they are new and the minute I see that happening, I will be there. I'm the mean one.

People will disagree or have an opinion of how someone posts and it is no different from new posters to those that have been around. It doesn't seem to matter whether someone is new or not, it is all dependent upon what is said and how others take it.

I think it is worth pointing out.

Huh?

LOL Nice way to twist it I guess.

I am saying that forum posters will hotly debate, dispute or jump on anyone they wish to engage with, whether it is permitted or not, whether someone is new to the forum or not.

Sorry if I overstepped.

But it is true. Not just here, anywhere on the net. Newbies are rarely welcomed with open arms. A good rule of thumb is to lurk for at least a month before your first post - anywhere, not just here.

I don't. I couldn't care less what others preferences are if I'm not in a relationship with them. also, if you think you will stop by for "a few days" and find your mate... some are here for YEARS and haven't found the right match. this isn't macy's, the weekend sales don't apply here

Dear god, I've been mostly good. Why do I feel I should have a law degree to moderate a forum filled with sadist and smart snarky people. I swear I didn't mean to do that bad stuff in a past life. I'll try to be good now, but you know me. I did say; try.

Online stuff is fairly simple. The bad are out there, including me. It is best to be slow to print, just look at some of my posts. We don't always do the best thing, but most of us try. Be prepared for the worst, hope for the best and run like heck if all else fails.

A little bit. Yeah.

But it's more like trial by fire. Or you could think of it like paddling. If you can get through that you've got staying power.

This might just be my impression.

Chap, that has absolutely nothing to do with any of us here. Either take it up with them or forget about it and move on.

Welcome to the forum. But I'd suggest that you'll have a more enjoyable time here if you drop the baggage from elsewhere and just contribute to the discussions here normally.

Personally, I'm more than capable of picking up my own internet feuds. I don't need to get involved in yours.

By no means.

Have you ever been the new kid at school? Do you think that 300 kids who have all known each other for 10 years should stop their conversations with old friends to make the new kid feel welcome?

Even if you feel that in a perfect world they should, do you really think this happens?
Or do you think it's incumbent upon the new kid to be nice to everyone, offering friendly hellos and congratulations for acing a test in order to be accepted?

This is like any party filled with friends you've been to. If you're new to the group, they aren't going to stop to make you feel comfortable. You need to show them that they would enjoy having you join their group.

That's also my impression. Even compared to other places on the net (well, ok, not Brawl Hall or Something Awful), while it's better than it used to be, this place isn't particularly newbie friendly. Not in a way that breaks the rules and would require mod action generally. But there is frequently a certain amount of 'testing' of newbies that goes on.

There's basically two main approaches I think.

The first is to do what you outline here and generally go in a bit softly.

Alternatively, if anyone snarks at you, snark back. Harder. Faster. Deeper. Once a few people have drawn back a bloody stump it generally stops and you can dial it back a bit.

Hey there,

You've had some pretty good advice so far.

Definitely stop with the deleting profiles and creating new ones, or at least if you persist in doing so please don't expect anyone to believe you're here for the long run.

As for your second question, people harass people for their preferences, mostly because they are asshats.

Now as for participating in a Forum, the first thing is to use your common sense. While some new posters get a hard time, I don't think it's actually true that "all newbies get a hard time". By and large, newbies who settle in sensibly go almost unnoticed, it's the newbies who stomp in with loud voices and start generalising or pontificating that get a hard ride.

Think of a forum as if it were a bar.

Every bar has regulars, and sure - they're a little leery towards newcomers, but if you show consideration for the rules (both formal and informal) of the place you'll not be given a hard time.

Just like a decent bar, every forum has its madwags... the crazy-eyed nut job who normally inhabits one end of the bartop has its equivalent in an online forum. And just as it is with a real bar, you can't always tell at first glance.

Now, imagine you walked into a bar and said at the top of your voice "Why do people harass other people for their preferences?"

What sort of reaction would you reasonably expect?

This isn't rocket surgery... you need to be conscious that you're walking among a group of people who don't know you from adam....
