There you go...I ask someone not to wear a gun into my house.....and you read it as I was being an asshole.
Please explain to me why I should care about the opinion of an obvious idiot ?

The only way that I can make any sense of Bama's position is if I assume that Bama feels people with guns have more rights or occupy a superior social position to those without guns. With that assumption operative, his position makes some kind of sense. Without it, his position is ridiculous.

Which is what his stated positions on most gun-related issues is - ridiculous, deserving of ridicule and not much else.

Then you didn't read what I said. He, by his account, became instantly confrontational. If a person tells me they don't want guns I their house I will be glad to comply. If they start with something like he did, demanding to know why they thought they needed one in his house, I will think they are looking for an argument. It has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with his confrontational approach.

NO Bama I didn't become confrontational....a) I don't jump all over guests coming in my house.
b) he had a gun I didn't
c) my nephew and his son were best friends at the time.
All of which adds up to me simply asking him to leave the gun in the car.....the what about a barbecue led you to believe you needed a gun was ,lets say, literary license...yanno dramatic effect ?
Either way .....your still an idiot, and so was he,and here's why...he was walking into my house armed. If you think that ,in and of itself,is not confrontational than you are not just an idiot.....your an asshole.
Where did you ever get the idea that when going to someone else's house wearing a gun is socially acceptable ?
Don't bother answering,I can't stress how little I care about any answer you might provide [:)]

Riots are a bunch of hopped up crazy asses looting and burning shit to the ground.

Kinda like the american revolution?

Kent State was a freak of nature.

How was kent state a freak of nature? I am pretty sure it was the army/national guard with rifles and bayonets.

What ?? Ya got a problem with the revolution ? Are you really comparing that to a riot ?

Yep, Kent State was the National Gaurd but how often does that sort of thing happen ?

It should be noted that several guardsmen were in route to the hospital before the first shot was fired.

Now you are trying to defend the Guards behavior at Kent State ?
How big an asshole are you ?

4 student went to a morgue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again we have a victim of lack of research, I said from the first that if someone didn't want me to bring a firearm into their home that I wouldn't. In fact I have repeated that. Once again he didn't ask, or even tell them to remove the gun from his home, he came at him, by his own words, confrontationially. I would have had a problem with that if he was talking about what color shirt I had on.

Again, his house, his prerogative. At any point in time you have a problem with how a homeowner handles any given situation, as a guest on their property, you can leave.

And I would leave rather than argue about it with him. Can't you read, I have said repeatedly that I would accept the wishes of the homeowner. That doesn't mean he didn't handle the situation wrong. I realize that you can't see past guns, but as I said I would still think he was being a jerk regardless of the subject. How hard is that to understand.
I would, if asked or even told that firearms were not allowed in a particular house I would see to it I didn't bring one in. If he came at me like Mike says he did he wouldn't see me again. The guy didn't stay away from his house because he couldn't take his gun in, he did it because when talking about guns Mike apparently thinks that he has no reason to be civil.

Lol....How about my feeling that anyone that brings a gun to a neighbors house for a barbecue is an asshole to begin with.
I'm quite sure you are one of those guys.

The way you described it you did jump all over him. You have admitted that you get irrational concerning firearms and this just goes to prove it.

No Bama, the irrational act was the wearing of a gun when going to someone else's house to meet people for the first time.
What gave him ,you ,or anyone else the idea that it's okay to walk into someone else's house carrying a piece on your hip ?
Where the fuck do you get that from ?
Why is your position the default position rather than mine, how does one assume that someone else would be alright with that .

MAYBE IF I PUT THIS IN CAPS IT WILL SINK IN. YES THE HOMEOWNER HAS THE RIGHT TO BAN ANYTHING HE WANT TO FROM HIS HOME, I NEVER SAID HE DIDN'T. BUT IF I DID WANT BEER IN MY HOUSE AND STARTED UP WITH WHO SAID YOU COULD COME OVER HERE AND GET DRUNK YOU WOULD THINK I WAS BEING RUDE AND YOU WOULD BE RIGHT.

Why do you keep trying to get me to back off from a position I never took or even hinted at?

Which breach loading single shot pistol with interchangable barrel and reciever groups was designed for the military?
Which bolt action single shot pistol was designed for the military.
Which five shot extreem pressure revolver was designed for the military?
Which 4 shot derringer revolver was designed for the military?
Which magazine fed cordite cartridge .40 cal rifle was designed for the military?
Then there is one of my favorites the automag. Which auto loading pistol with interchangable barrels for different size bullets was designed for the military?

All based on the same original designs.

cite please. Simply because they are not.

FYI The .44 Automag was kewl when Dirty Hary used it but in reality was unreliable.

I have never had a failure to function with mine. I have had it more than 30 years and have fired thousands of rounds through it. The issue with the is that they are so phoquing expensive. On the upside they are relatively cheap to reload for.

The fact is, the basic action of a modern revolver has changed very little from Sam Colt's very first revolver design. Now go away and bug somebody else.

So you managed to quote and all without saying shit.

Could you answer the question : do you think it's reasonable to show up at,let's call it a "new" ,neighbors hose....for something as benign as a barbecue, with or wearing ,a damm gun ?

Do you think it is smart to start off with an accusatory attitude toward an armed person you don't know?
Please point out when I said he did everything right, you can't because I didn't. You are also demanding that I back down from something I didn't say.

Because everything you said was an uninformed rant of no importance.

The fact is, the basic action of a modern revolver has changed very little from Sam Colt's very first revolver design.

That is not true. Colt was out of business because of lack of sales when sam walker came to him and told him his gun was only a nice try but if he were to make the changes he had in mind it would be a force to be reconed with. Look up the essential design changes on google. Colts revolver was not built for the military and the military did not want it. The walker colt is the bassis for much of what followed.

Now go away and bug somebody else.

I don't see a clear right or wrong in this situation.

Mike may well have been exceptionally rude to the guy, verbally, maybe even confrontational. He may have even handled the situation differently than you or I would have.

But he was well within his rights to handle the situation as he did. The matter was resolved, peaceably enough, even if they aren't bffs now.

So if an armed person was on your front porch you would not be confrontational. That is contrary to every position you have posted re: guns and personal space.
Do I think it is smart....you bet your ass, the best defense is offense. You seem to miss the central point. Why would a person shows up at a social function like a back yard bar-b-q with a sidearm on their hip?

Oh good grief. The Patterson was sold to the military as well as the civilian market. Colt intended it for the military. The Walker was still the same basic design. The only things that changed were adding another round to the cylinder, a stationary trigger and beefing it up for a the more powerful .44 caliber ball. After that comes the Dragoon and the Remingtons, same basic designs.

If I say please, will you go away ?

Hallucination might be the belief that servicemen would fire on or bomb their own countrymen.

I am pretty sure it was macarthur, eisenhower, patton and the u.s. army that evicted american citizens with rifles and bayonet from peacably assembling to seek redress of their greviences in washington dc.

In the state of Colorado, half of the sheriff departments have publicly stated they won't enforce their stupid recently enacted gun laws. That might tell you something.

It tells me that half the cops in colorado will be looking for a job. When one becomes a cop arent they required to swear an oath to enforce the law? Or are they allowed to selectively enforce laws say like black people walking in the middle of a residential street.

I'm not familiar with what you stated in your first paragraph so you'll have to enlighten me.

If the sheriffs were selectively enforcing discrimination laws you might have a point. And as you well know, sheriffs are elected by individual counties. I highly doubt they'll be out of a job. What obligation do they have to uphold an unconstitutional law ?

You aren't familiar with the Bonus army ?
You really need a remedial American History course [8|]

I'm not familiar with the Bonus Army. Why don'tcha tell us all about 'em.
