Hallucination might be the belief that servicemen would fire on or bomb their own countrymen.

I am pretty sure it was macarthur, eisenhower, patton and the u.s. army that evicted american citizens with rifles and bayonet from peacably assembling to seek redress of their greviences in washington dc.

In the state of Colorado, half of the sheriff departments have publicly stated they won't enforce their stupid recently enacted gun laws. That might tell you something.

It tells me that half the cops in colorado will be looking for a job. When one becomes a cop arent they required to swear an oath to enforce the law? Or are they allowed to selectively enforce laws say like black people walking in the middle of a residential street.

Kent State. Of course they will fire on native terrorists. Baltimore 1968. Ferguson 2015.

Force will be met with force.

I call bullshit on Ferguson. That was an individual law enforcement action. Riots are not exactly the same thing as war on the American people. Riots are a bunch of hopped up crazy asses looting and burning shit to the ground. It's also a law enforcement action so bullshit on that too. Kent State was a freak of nature. Good try though.

The Church Building.
The church building itself had no significance to the Pilgrims, and was kept intentionally drab and plain, with no religious depictions, crosses, windows, fancy architecture, or icons, to avoid the sin of idolatry. At Plymouth, the Pilgrim's church was the bottom floor of the town's fort--the top floor held six cannons and a watchtower to defend the colony. The church room was also the town's meetinghouse, where court sessions and town meetings took place. Isaac de Rasieres, who visited Plymouth in 1627, reported how the Pilgrim's began their church on Sunday: "They assemble by beat of drum, each with his musket or firelock, in front of the captain's door; they have their cloaks on, and place themselves in order, three abreast, and are led by a sergeant without beat of drum. Behind comes the governor, in a long robe; beside him on the right hand, comes the preacher with his cloak on, and on the left hand, the captain with his side-arms and cloak on, and with a small cane in his hand; and so they march in good order, and each sets his arms down near him." During the early years of Plymouth, failing to bring your gun to church was an offense for which you could be fined 12 pence.

Thank you...It is clear that they did "carry" in church...Any idea why?

Why yes I do, several in fact. But this thread is about something that happened today, not why they carried guns in the pilgrims time. So it doesn't make sense to start a discussion on it here. But if you are really interested, I bet there are tons of sites out there that will give you all the info you desire. All you have to do is google it.

Kinda like the american revolution?

Kent State was a freak of nature.

How was kent state a freak of nature? I am pretty sure it was the army/national guard with rifles and bayonets.

I'm not familiar with what you stated in your first paragraph so you'll have to enlighten me.

If the sheriffs were selectively enforcing discrimination laws you might have a point. And as you well know, sheriffs are elected by individual counties. I highly doubt they'll be out of a job. What obligation do they have to uphold an unconstitutional law ?

mnottertail -> RE: Gun goes off in Altoona church during Easter Vigil mass (4/7/2015 11:54:57 AM)

No one was shot by a National Guardsman in Ferguson. Nor in Baltimore, nor by Douglas MacArthur and Blackjack Pershing in the Washington Veterans riot, and many more... Cuz nobody needed to be. You can call bullshit on yourself. (OH, yeah, and as huntie reminded me, Maj. Eisenhower and Cpt. Patton.)

However, your lack of the concept of reality is still major fucked. Civil War in the 1860s is no different than today, the military will fight the enemy, whatever it takes.

The hallucination is all yours. They will fire. And a bunch of low level elected horses asses in Sherriffs offices will be held responsible for not enforcing that law (which they swore an oath to do), when it is violated, and they will be the ones wearing the ribbons in their hair at the square dance in the chow hall saturday night in the Colorado State Pen.

What ?? Ya got a problem with the revolution ? Are you really comparing that to a riot ?

Yep, Kent State was the National Gaurd but how often does that sort of thing happen ?

If the issue is resisting local and federal law enforcement over the usurpation of constutional rights, I highly doubt it. It's not exactly like the mountain states succeeding from the union.

I highly doubt that too.

Pretty sure this thread is about guns in church.

But if you are really interested,

My interest is in the culture that would cause people to do so.

You can doubt all you want. There will be Sherriffs heading for jail. If you arm yourself and move against the government. They will blow your shit away. General Order number one. Note Gordon Kahl. Note David Koresh. Note any number of individuals.

You dont even know that there are 7 safeties on a M1911A1 so, we wouldnt expect you to know this.

It should be abundantly clear to even the most dense observer that not everyone in government or the various services would back the government over the people in every imaginable scenario

There you go...I ask someone not to wear a gun into my house.....and you read it as I was being an asshole.
Please explain to me why I should care about the opinion of an obvious idiot ?

The only way that I can make any sense of Bama's position is if I assume that Bama feels people with guns have more rights or occupy a superior social position to those without guns. With that assumption operative, his position makes some kind of sense. Without it, his position is ridiculous.

Which is what his stated positions on most gun-related issues is - ridiculous, deserving of ridicule and not much else.

I see this particular issue being in favor of the homeowner's rights. You can still fully endorse the Second Amendment and not want relatively unknown people bringing guns to your house.

Veterans march on washington during the hoover administration.

If the sheriffs were selectively enforcing discrimination laws you might have a point.

I was unaware that cops had the authority for selective enforcement.

And as you well know, sheriffs are elected by individual counties. I highly doubt they'll be out of a job.

Why is it in colorado that the legislature cannot compel it's police officers to enforce the law?

What obligation do they have to uphold an unconstitutional law ?

The scotus is the only body in my country that can declare a law uconstitutional.

It should be abundantly clear to even the most dense observer that not everyone who is hallucinating these slobbering scenarios will have the preponderance, nor even a healthy minority of government or the various services back them over the people in most of the make-believe scenarios that are being imagined by the feeble minded buffoons.

Talk about hallucinations, 7 safeties on a 1911 ?? Maybe you should learn the difference between a design feature and a safety.

Who's talking about moving against the government ? I'm talking about resisting unconstitutional law. And Koresh didn't exactly have the American people backing his ass up. Koresh was an asshole who used religion to bang a bunch of minors. Time will tell if there will be sheriffs heading for jail. I highly doubt it.

In a gun confiscation senerio there could be hundreds of Wacos and law enforcement would be way outnumbered. Would the military jump in and shoot at its own people ? Once again I highly doubt it.

mnottertail -> RE: Gun goes off in Altoona church during Easter Vigil mass (4/7/2015 1:39:10 PM)

maybe you should. you mean like to intend, for a specific purpose or plan? thats a design feature. something can be two things, like the shit you are spewing, it can be both pathetic and ignorant. and it is.

I know you have failed epically at this before but the M1911A1 was DESIGNED for use of the military, not anything else.

And you, are foolish enough to be a private E nothing, (never more) and might have to handle one of those. Those of us in the upper ranks who will be leading the charge do not want you doing your legendary thing.

So.......tell me something I don't know, and I don't mean some of your typical bullshit. All guns except the shotgun were originally designed for military purposes.

Pathetic and ignorant would be trying to support your fellow gun control brethren (on a different gun thread) spewing stupid shit like 7 safeties on a 1911 when you of all people should know better. Are you going to name them all over again too ? [8D]

They have to be reinterpreted as a result of technology frequently. The Internet and freedom of speech and privacy; stem cell research, etc, etc, etc.

No they don't.

Then you didn't read what I said. He, by his account, became instantly confrontational. If a person tells me they don't want guns I their house I will be glad to comply. If they start with something like he did, demanding to know why they thought they needed one in his house, I will think they are looking for an argument. It has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with his confrontational approach.
