ORIGINAL: DesFIP To be serious though, I don't know anything about cars. He does. He does almost all of his own car maintenance. He believes everyone should be able to change a tire, check fluids, change their brake pads. All our kids know how, the only one who gets a pass is me. Because of my arthritis, I can't get things open, undo lug nuts etc. If the op expects a partner to have the same skill set she does, does she also have his skill set? Is she willing to learn how to rewire lamps, do simple plumbing repairs, car repairs, etc? Because it makes more sense for us to have different skill sets. To compliment each other as opposed to mirroring each other. There's daily chores and then there's life-skills. Having someone never cook because once in a while he changes a light bulb is a bit weird. Granted, in this lifestyle, it's a bit different :p Also, he might be doing a whole lot more everyday (maintaining a huge estate or something) that makes up for the not cooking. Wait a minute... wait a minute... wait a minute... HEY!!! Are you telling me that defeating Baldur's gate isn't a feat of epic responsibility and that I should be doing other shit?
