why dont we get back to the police brutality, or is it another reality you dont understand
or we could carry on with taking personal liberty from women, forcing them into birth and motherhood, by relligious liberty folks.

You forget I'm in favor of allowing a woman to choose an abortion.

I just oppose taxpayers having to foot the bill for her decision. I oppose having to foot the bill for what is most likely the result of a choice she made (most likely, because the majority of abortions are the result of consensual sex).

No sex = no babies. No sex is the most effective way to prevent unwanted pregnancies without having a negative effect on a couple's future ability to have children.

Of course, there are other options at a couple's disposal, too.

http://www.womenscenter.com/abortion_stats.html
    quote:

46% percent of women who have abortion had not used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant. Of these women, 33% had perceived themselves to be at low risk for pregnancy, 32% had concerns about contraceptive methods, 26% had unexpected sex and 1% had been forced to have sex.

46% of all abortions are from unprotected sex.
0.46% of all abortions are from forced unprotected sex (1% of 46%)

So, the majority of abortions are being chosen by women who are having consensual sex, and, roughly, 4 in 9 are being chosen by women who were not using contraceptives (which is yet, another choice that was made).

If they never want to have kids, there are pretty effective solutions for that, too. If they are going to be with only one man the rest of their sexually active years, they can be with a guy that has been snipped. No swimmies means no babies, too. There are also invasive measures that can be taken by the woman, but those carry a lot more risks and potential side effects.

45.5% of all abortions are chosen by women who got pregnant because they did not use contraceptives while choosing to be sexually active (removing the 0.46% cases where the woman was forced into having sex while not using contraception).

How many women choose an abortion because of forced sexual activity? Even if it's as high as 50%, that means half of all abortions are chosen by women who are consenting to involve themselves in an activity that has the potential for an unwanted pregnancy. They rolled the dice. They can be responsible for their actions.

Don't ask (or try to force) taxpayers into paying for your (general) abortion, but feel free to choose one if you want one.

If Mongo there was the one at risk of getting pregnant, you can bet his opinion would change so fast he would get whiplash.

"Mongo?"

I've been snipped. My wife (at the time) and I decided that we did not want any more kids, so we made a choice. Getting snipped carries an awful lot less risk, less recovery time, and fewer negative side effects, which is why that was our choice. Now that I'm no longer married, I still don't have to worry about getting a woman pregnant. See how that works? We didn't want any more kids, so we took a course of action that lowered our risk of getting pregnant while still allowing us to have sex.

A woman has to decide which is more important: not getting pregnant or having sex. Obviously, you can minimize the amount of risk of pregnancy while still having sex, but there will always be a slight risk. Proper use of birth control is correlated with fewer pregnancies, too.

Here is a graph that if you look through it compares police crime to the general population.

It looks to me as though there is little difference between the two overall... so you have nothing more to fear from them than your friends

ALl seven of my pregnancies were the result of "contraception not working."

After my youngest was born, I had my tubes tied...24 years ago.
A year later, I was pregnant again, except it was ectopic that ruptured.
I took responsibility...I got pregnant anyway.
That it comes down to money and morality....is ignorant

I dont buy that... cops look at everyone as if they are suspects, that everyone lies, everyone has something to hide.. when a cop is talking to you, even in the most casual manner, they are interogating you.. they are assessing your voice, your body language, your eyes and face when you speak,.. and golly gee whiz, cops carry guns and tasers and clubs and know how to choke-hold you and beat the crap outta you.. I will stick with regular Joes and Janes that are friendly and unarmed.. but thanks for your concern... [;)]

Could you give a source, I saw one a couple of weeks ago that showed cops at a much lower crime rate than the general population. That makes more sense to me than this graph.

general population is tossing everyone together in a pot, the not so desirables in with the upstanding citizens.. but people decide who they associate with... some associate with upstanding law-abiding citizens so wouldnt they tend to be safer than said graph shows/claims? I know i dont associate with just anyone, i associate with like-minded people that i have things in common with and I feel perfectly safe..

The graph is meaningless unless it is compared to the general population.
I hang around with ccw holders, their crime rate is 10% that of everyone else.

kdsub -> RE: It Looks Like This Police Officer Fucked Up (4/10/2015 7:40:28 PM)

According to FBI statistics approx. 1,000,000 police kill about 400 a year . the US rate is about 5 for every 100,000 or about 500 for every 1,000,000.

that is 80% the normal population, and it does not differentiate between legitimate shootings and ones like this thread is about.

Conveniently enough . . .

Texas Bill Would Make Recording Police Illegal

A bill introduced in the Texas House of Representatives would make it illegal for private citizens to record police within 25 feet.

House Bill 2918, introduced by state Rep. Jason Villalba (R-Dallas) on Tuesday, would make the offense a misdemeanor. Citizens who are armed would not be permitted to record police activity within 100 feet of an officer, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Your own quote shows that your "headline" is a inaccurate. They can record the police, they just have to stay back when they do it. The recording of this shooting would have been unaffected by that law.

Thank you for adding more proof that even when you're on birth control (or take other methods), that pregnancies can still happen.

Goes to show that not having sex is still more effective at preventing pregnancies.

If nothing had a cost, money wouldn't matter. But, shit costs money, so money certainly does matter. I will not push my moral beliefs on anyone. Forcing taxpayers to pay for your (general) abortion, however, pushes your (general) morality on taxpayers.

You are absolutely correct that it takes two to tango, so to speak. Where is the father's responsibility? Uh, to help out the mother. Duh. Should the baby daddy help pay for the abortion? IMO, yes. Should the baby daddy help pay for all the necessary pre- and post- medical care? IMO, yes.

So, for all you folks out there that are oblivious to what I think, any male and female duo who aren't ready to be parents should really consider not having sexual intercourse, as not having sex is the only way to prevent pregnancy.

Better?

That's the sad part. I've read articles that are pointing out the cop could have had a reasonable level of fear that lead to the shooting because of what happened between the dash cam and the private citizen cam.

Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder wtf is going on.
