no witch hunt involved....their is no moderate involved on the left...NONE! you can call atheism what you like, it is nothing more than saying you are the highest form being......That you answer to nobody but you. Which if you are honest, and I don't expect you to be even a little, is a black hole.
Btw, their is no demand for a moderate democrat anywhere....You see Hillary article? people are worried she is to moderate? No bullspit there at all. Please! no moderate wins ever. and when they do they lose the next time badly i.e bushs

Iowa should be interesting. Will Huckabee and Santorum split the evangelical vote again? Will Bush and Walker split the establishment vote? Where does that leave Rand? Has he distanced himself from his dad too much? Not enough? And what about his Senate seat? Kentucky says he can't run for both.

I hope Huckabee and santorum wont run.

walker seems far more appealing to the conservative end of the spectrum than does bush, while at the same time appealing to the mainstream. I think he stands a good chance.

yes I think rand is his own fellow by a long shot and not caught up in the image of his father, while at the same time, appealing to those who supported his father.

I don't know about the senate running/president running conflict---I remember them mentioning it some months ago and I think the thought at that time was to find out if it was somehow possible to do both...if I am wrong, or he is wrong, and he doesn't win the presidency, it would be a bummer to lose him in the senate. but then, if a republican wins, one can hope theres a place for him in the administration somewhere.

the thing about cruz and paul is they are both Christians too (so far as I know) so I think that negates any potential advantage Huckabee or santorum (who is catholic I believe) have.

the secret to winning as a conservative as I see it, is to remain that way especially when the media is pushing for the moderate. If everybody move to the mythical center, one that doesn't exist for the democrats btw, democrats win. the one who stays conservative wins the presidency and in a landslide.

bounty44 -> RE: Rand is running. (4/11/2015 1:16:22 PM)

i dont disagree. one of the challenges there, is, the media do a handy job as painting conservatives as radical and fringe. ted cruz has already experienced that a number of times...

am not so sure about the landslide---the key there is to win the independent vote, even apart from the media distortions.

housebitch777 -> RE: Rand is running. (4/11/2015 1:18:55 PM)

after 8 years and Romney winning the moderate, the key is to win the hard right, which is seeking blood. I don't believe you have in hell of winning on a do nothing policy.
you wont get away with doing a bush, a Romney...repeal, payback, blood is the key to winning....What the mean is simple time to undo 50 years of moderate republican and democrat party policy.

bounty44 -> RE: Rand is running. (4/11/2015 1:28:23 PM)

again, i don't disagree---there were apparently a lot of conservatives who have stayed home these past two elections.

that said, i suspect the prospect of a Hillary Clinton presidency could be motivating on the right to "get the vote out."

No offense, but it has nothing to do with who runs on the left.....its going to be more communist sympathizers who are angry the Russians lost the cold war...its all on the republican party.

That is possibly the most lunatic comment I've ever seen on this forum, housebitch777. And, by Crackey, were you up against stiff opposition, too. [:D]

I disagree a little---Hillary's a pretty polarizing figure. at the same time, I like to think we are all going to be motivated by the memory of Obama too (like in the past two mid term elections).

Truth is, leftists typically have to rely on personal attacks because theyre generally incapable of discussing any given topic in a civil manner. The best they can hope to accomplish, is drag the forum discussion down to their level so no one can enjoy the experience

MercTech -> RE: Rand is running. (4/11/2015 3:12:14 PM)

Interesting phrasing of the reporter's question. What a wonderful way to twist things into a false correlation.

A> Running with a plank in his platform to be reform of the justice system. (changing the laws)

is equated to

B> A poll of republican voters showing that most republicans think the laws existing are enforced equitably to all.

Twisty turney timey wimey way of setting up so that ANY answer sounds bad. Just like "Have you stopped beating your wife?"' the only way to answer is to not touch the question.

That is how having a position works. I mean the moment it doesn't work like that, the moment someone else is in charge of explaining what your position is then you are trying to destroy America in order to please your Lord Satan.

That doesn't doesn't actually follow from atheism any more than your aunicornism is a claim that you are the highest form of being. The Raelians for instance immediately come to mind as a group that's both atheist and firmly believe in higher beings.

Biden ran for both VP and the senate in the same year
It has been done 4 times, Johnson, Lieberman, and Bentsen.

Any of them in Kentucky?

KY law had the ban. KY GOP Committee cleared the way for him to do both, so be will be able to. Biden, Johnson, Lieberman, and Bentsen all appearing on a ticket twice has no bearing if none of them were from KY.

You can be atheist all you want....I am all for freedom of religion. Part of the constituition. But that is what atheism is. It puts mankind at the top of hill. And that when you look at the world, is a scary thought.

missed the point once again. answering to a police officer, is different that answering to your parents..all of those though are answering man. Not a supreme being

atheism is unreasonable totally unsound position, nothing to be fearful of. its not religion because it doesn't believe it exist, its not a political party because it doesn't exist. beside the rich and wealthy what is it that you are unreasonably envious of?
