I guess you dont understand the question.

Does speaking out against or mocking any group that may use intimidation, threats and actual violence to shut down opposition to it make one an "asshole"?

Or just one certain group.

To me the death penalty as opposed to a life sentence is a mercy for most… I hope they do keep him safe and separated from the general population. Can you imagine waking up every day for the rest of your life knowing only the four walls of your cell and an hour a day alone walking circles in a pen with no way to end your life?

Butch

I disagree that a life sentence would be worse.. he doesnt want to die (or he would have stayed with his bombs when they went off), his horrible family doesnt want him to die.. being on death row for a decade or more with the uncertainty of his death penalty being overturned, or not.. day after day, having the thought/image of being strapped down as deadly meds are pumped into his arm.. having nightmares about those last minutes.. that would be the greater punishment, imo..

If he is kept in solitary he will likely go insane, so if he does go insane he wont have any concept of it being punishment as he wont mentally be there (sorta like Alzheimers)..

No... Only I can determine that... For myself

Assholes are very personal... On all levels ... Being one, calling someone one, or being called one is up to you or I.

Boils down to this: What would executing him achieve, versus what would not executing him achieve. Myself, I could put a long list of things under both headings.

But, whatever, I'd just suggest: don't do 'knee jerk'. Don't follow your hearts, follow your heads - because hearts tend to be bloody stupid.

Why would you think there is a right or wrong answer to this question? This is a question for feelings alone... there is no logic in the crime nor logic in the penalty... It is simply do we FEEL this man deserves to be on this earth with us. I say no...the people of Massachusetts said no. It will take some years but if there is a God of mercy he will surely burn in Hell... and if there is not will then what difference does it make if he is dead in a few years or decades from now. He will join oblivion and we will follow soon enough in an uncaring eternal universe.
