Another Conservative who isnt Conservative. it comes to something when I need to post stuff about your own American Conservatives just to keep you informed.

http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/george-w-bush-renewable-energy/

PS, I never considered Bush conservative. I voted for him to get two Supreme Court nominations. That's all I expected from him and that's all I got.

bounty44 -> RE: CO2 levels hit a record high.. (5/19/2015 4:12:46 PM)

I posted pretty much that exact same sentiment earlier, about "but George bush" did it...apparently it didn't sink in then either.

and it is still, nevertheless, beside the point but when people don't have an actual answer to the question at hand, I suppose bluster, and repeating the same non-answer is a strategy.

the bummer thing is---being genuinely interested in environmental stewardship and conservatism, I do have an interest in how these two things mingle.

Frankly Hunter I dont give a shit. As I told them both, I have answered it already. The fact Bounty continues to his claim that Americas version of Conservatism is the onetrueway is his problem, not mine, not Camerons and certainly not the Conservative Partys.

It is quite possible some Conservatives dont actually believe in a flat earth society and that science holds the key.

I have not many any such claim---and you want me to re-read the thread?

its beyond me you cannot see your entire premise rests on how Europeans understand conservatism in contrast to how we do (this is your position, not mine).

all im doing is asking how its different, such that combating climate change doesn't compromise conservative principles.

your inability to answer, ironically enough, does not make me either stupid or ignorant.

as I said just a moment ago, the bummer is, im genuinely interested in the topic and for a moment, I thought you actually had something to contribute to it.

Laughable stuff........ You have been bleating on about Cameron not being a twue Conservative as he doesnt see things your way.

The only answer you seem willing to accept is me agreeing with you.......well dream on bruv, cause it just aint happening.

I never stated anything about "because Bush done it" I just pointed out he took a similar viewpoint to European leaders on the issue. I suspect you didnt even bother to read what he actually said.

I've read the thread. I don't recall seeing it. Thanks for continuing to not answer the question.

I have a solid understanding of how the understanding of the meaning of the word "liberal" (as it pertains to politics) differs in the US compared to everywhere else. I acknowledge that it's current usage in the US is different from how it's used, pretty much, everywhere else, and that it's even different from how it was used here a couple hundred years ago.

It's too bad that you'd rather play games than actually answer questions directly.

ironic stuff DS, you of all people talking of playing games. you couldnt be more obtuse with your posts if you tried.

Again, because Cameron has taken the stance he has to reduce CO2 emmissions and to try and kickstart a green economy, it doesnt mean he isnt Conservative.

    Hunter..... American definitions of political positions always amaze me. They are so different from the same definition used in the rest of the Western world..
    My point to bounty is that by our definition, and the rest of the EU come to that, Cameron is indeed Conservative.
    He has woken up to the idea of global warming kind of late and is trying to use its popularity to kickstart small industry in the UK. There is nothing unConservative about trying to drum up more businesses.

(Italics mine)

You claimed that the definition of "conservative" is different in the EU than what it is in the US. How is it different?

Politesub53 -> RE: CO2 levels hit a record high.. (5/21/2015 4:39:49 PM)

Read the thread until it sinks in (Italics mine)

You mean until I stop trying to figure out where you linked to it.

Note that I'm not saying Cameron isn't a Conservative. I'm not saying anything about Cameron, or even his attempts to tackle Global Warming Climate Change.

You made a claim that the definition of conservative is different in the US compared to Europe. I want you to explain. I truly do. You have not yet done that.

Politesub53 -> RE: CO2 levels hit a record high.. (5/22/2015 4:06:54 PM)

You previously stated the following. if you can work that out for yourself, I am sure you can work out how the definitions of "conservative" and "socialism" also differ in the US. If you think I am going to pander to your wishes, dream on.

Pander to my wishes? If entering into an actual discussion is "pandering to my wishes," then, I suppose that is what I was asking for you to do.

Be well, PS.
