Yes, the Republicans definitely have an agenda. Of the top 13 states in debt, 12 are run by Republican governors. Virginia has a democrat in charge, but only since January '14. His predecessor, Republican Bob McDonnell, was sentenced to 2 years of prison for 9 felony convictions related to his corruption. Gov. McAuliffe is trying to clean up the economic mess that McDonnell left in Virginia. Fiscal responsibility?!?? Please...More proof that the money does not trickle down.

The Republicans didn't do what Clinton wanted. They had seen tax cut "to balance the budget" before an knew that more taxes merely led to an even greater round of spending so they did it another way. They slowed the rate of growth. This in spite of the fact that Clinton/Gore proclaimed smaller increases to be cuts and pretended a virtual collapse of the government.
So yes they forced the balanced budget. The fact that they didn't have to raise taxes to do it does not, in spite of liberal propaganda, mean they fought against balancing the budget.
