No. It was overturning part of the Brady Bill that I remembered . Right cases, but wrong thinking.

That still doesn't fit with your claim that the Feds can't force legislation on a State without funding it.

That's why I said "wrong thinking".

Bill & Newt. Fun times.

I swear there was a Supreme Court case that said Congress couldn't laws on the states without providing funding. The exact case escapes me.

JVoV, the enormity of the lack of understanding in this post has sent me off. I really don't hold your ignorance against you. But if I respond now ill use words and phrases I'll regret. So, I'll respond tomorrow.

Ok, found it.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printz_v._United_States

Finally, the majority cited previous rulings by the Supreme Court in similar situations. In New York v. United States, the Court invalidated a provision in a bill that "coerced" states to comply with a federal radioactive waste-disposal regime, holding "[t]he Federal Government may not compel the States to enact or administer a federal regulatory program". New York v. United States, 505 U.S. 144, 188 (1992).

I'd also like to point out that in California they do the same thing. They say if your local agency is affected by an unfounded item imposed by the State, here we have a budget item to reimburse you. Then they put about $0.25 in that biget item and let the Cities and Counties fight over who gets it.

They are not deep nor daily, except in the feeble minds of the right.

How many are in the clown bus today? Now I see the GOP is going to restrict their right to free speech, these candidates.

meanwhile, I recently saw frank luntz saying (and with research showing) that marco Rubio is likely the best of the speakers amongst the republican candidates.

We don't need a good speaker. Candidate Obama was a great orator. We need a uniter, regardless of oration skills.

How about a candidate who actually understands the issues facing the country???

Just sayin'

Really, after 40 years in political spotlight Hillary has amply demonstrated her corruption. We see it in the papers evry day. Perhaps you'll provide links to Rubio's failures. You seem very sure that you're right on top of them.

But didn't Rubio use future tense. I was pointing out that what he was speaking about has occurred elsewhere so it shouldn't be ignored here.

Lots of things happen in other places that should never be ignored here.

like this

Of course. It's probably why conservative don't like big government and have problems understanding why liberals do. So, you're most likely to find agreement on this side of the political spectrum for that.

It's not so much Rubio's failures. It's his lack of ideas. (Other than lead Obama-basher from Florida)

Until recently, many Tea-Party style platitudes.

Examples:
Never raise the debt limit - OK, but what if your own Senate has incurred more obligations? Do you even understand the concept of our ridiculous debt limit?

"Don't engage with Cuba. Vietnam and China are no more politically free as a result of engagement." First of all, my Cuban and Chinese friends would say this statement is completely false. Secondly, so what is your idea?

"Growing our energy will make us energy independent" - Do you understand global oil markets? Do you understand that oil extracted from U.S. lands is sold globally on the open market?

That being said, his Tax Plan
is interesting: (rewarding Capital Investment, rather than simply high incomes, helping folks in the middle and upper middle)

Of course, every Corporatist Republican and his brother are quick to bash Rubio's plan.

It's actually refreshing to see an actual idea out of a Republican .gov website. Usually, it is "Obama sucks". "The environment is fine." "Let's reduce the upper tax rates and we will create jobs."

I think a huge issue facing the country is that we aren't united. If we're united, every other issue will be easier to put to rest.

There is a very limited amount of crude oil exported (and it's to Canada). Refined petroleum products can be exported. We are the world's largest exporter of gasoline. In January, the Federal Government started to loosen the reins on the exportation of refined light oil, but it's not unlimited.

You mean, like, free speech. Right? Youre referring to the party that insists that its "hate speech" to criticize cults (Islam / Muhammad), or the global warming fundamentalists. The party that insists that "deniers" should have their careers ruined.

THAT party.
