I hadn't heard that rumor until just now in Casteels post and your reply. What a depressing thought. Glad it isn't true.

ETA the date sounds similar to the date posted for Kinkytoo shutting down. My best guess, someone mixed their rumors.

No, Mod3, you're not the mod that was accused of sharing that.. In fact, I've talked with you on the chat and seen you do what you can to help let people know that you're working on fixing the problems (I'm ColdHeartedBastard/CHB on the chat, btw..) and the "mod" in question, is supposedly even "higher up" than you.. so no need to claim responsibility for something I think they are making up in the first place.

The rumor I'm speaking off, I suspect is originating from someone whom I've banned from chat, as this is not the first time they've talked a lot of BS to stir things up. they like to say "I'm good friends with mods, and they tell me, off the record of course, that.. <insert some BS here>". It's pretty clear to me that they are just going for that "wow, you are personal friends with the mods? Cool, you must be a great person, I want you to be my friend!" type thing. Heck, this person once claimed they knew me personally, had my phone number, talked to me often, etc. What was really funny, was when I asked them to tell me my own number, they refused, saying it was private/privileged information.. Guess I'm not special enough to know my own number! O.o

I'm the lead moderator. There is no higher moderator. I can assure you that no one in support has spoken to him. I have spoken to him and he has had no access to anyone else. I speak to a lot of people, that doesn't mean that I say what they might say that I say or that they are friends.

So the drama is over. The site is not shutting down. We are experiencing technical difficulties and they continue to be worked on. Things are running smoother, though we have some fixes that need to be made and hopefully this event is nearly over.

Then of course I could tell you about my space alien mother, but that too is another rumor for another day.

Even though this is about the site running slowly, I have been asked to post this here.

At this point the only display option I have is for text listing. Photo and Photo/text is not available. Is this a change in the software or is my system having an issue?

Is the site cutting back on bandwidth and bandwidth costs? Searches without pics will reduce bandwidth demands.

They are not cutting back on anything. They are updating and repairing. There will be some interruptions at times. If you knew there were some problems, why would you now question whether it was your computer again?

PC, you've been here long enough to know that at one time back in the early days of the site that was the only option. Then the code writers got creative and added the photo option for the general search. Be happy that the speed is back and things are slowly coming back to what we have all come to enjoy as a normal functioning site.

Clearly many of the whiners lack patience and show their true colors by doing so. It also shows that they don't have what it takes to be in this lifestyle. In this world of instant gratification many lose sight of what life is all about and want nothing more than their "happy moment".

All this would be resolved if the moderators alerted users to issues as they arise. A one line announcement such as "Because of the work being done on the site, photo and text/photo search displays will not be available for a bit" is a pretty standard procedure for a major change in site operation. Communication.

I appreciate CollarSpace and the work it takes to administrate the site. Thank you.

A question MasterG2ktr. In your all-knowing cyber wisdom, what does it take to be in this lifestyle? A pretty blanket statement without much basis, I think.

I have stated there will be disruptions and temporary things that happen as this challenge for tech is met. It is a long, slow process and things come up as they work, that must be dealt with. They make progress and yet it isn't fixed yet. I really cannot tell you anything technical. It is all being worked on. What more can I say? They are busy, I am busy and I just don't get it enough to explain it and will not suffer someones death for them to teach me tech. I don't need more than it isn't working right, is being fixed and what I can see or hear about as they work. I'm a little bit crazy, but not that crazy!

We are sorry for the inconvenience, we really are!
