What about people equating what the Confederate Flag stands for with the Gay Pride Flag and saying, “Hey, that flag should be taken down too because all it represents is hatred towards Christians" ?

How many Christians did Gays enslave? And for how many years?

How many Christians have been lynched by Gays?

Please show me the photo of the nice water fountain labeled "Gays" next to the shitty looking fountain labeled "Christians."

Whose past might be more or less egregious is beside the point.

No, it's the whole point.

It is a silly nonsense to claim that the gay pride flag is representative of hatred towards christians. There is no history of hatred towards Christians associated with the gay pride flag.

The confederate flag, however, has very strong associations historically and culturally with slavery.

There is a world of difference.

You're obviously not telling the truth or didn't read the news (national news) during the period of the last gay marriage vote in California. The gay marriage folk drove people out of jobs, picketed in front of private houses and pretty much said they would punish anyone, similarly, who donated money to any cause that didn't agree with their agenda.

Not only that but no one was complaining about this flag for 50 years since after the civil rights movement.

Sure they were, they just weren't listened to most of the time.

Thats part of the faux outrage leftists have about the ability to donate anonymously to political causes

They cant track down their political opponents if the names arent listed somewhere

So, why hide it? You are not the Klan. But may be the same reason we dont want voter id, so rightist shiteaters cant track down who we vote for and murder us in their demonizing frenzies.

Obviously dealing with a small mind that is literal instead of eidetic. I understand that's a common thought process in autism. Not saying anything about you. Just that you seem to turn to it commonly in order to salvage an untenable argument. Well, I can't say I was there when the KKK used the confederate battle flag to impose terror on blacks. Nor can I say I was there while Gay activists picketed houses of individual donors to causes they didn't like. But, I'm betting that flag was flown at least once or twice during a nice picket event.

Well a cunning allusion to autism really helps your argument.

Hilariously... your misinterpretation of my statement is based on an overly literal reading of it. See the irony there?

If the minute proportion of the time the battle flag makes it a symbol of hate then the times the gay flag was used to intimidate people they didn't like does too.

lovmuffin -> RE: South Carolina to Pull Confederate Flag (6/25/2015 1:30:34 PM)

Here's a by of hypocrisy for ya.

[image]http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/wp-content/uploads/obama-confederate-flag-pin.jpg[/image]

But Democrats have been using Confederate flags in their campaigns for decades.

And Barack Obama had his own Confederate flag campaign pin… in 2012!
The pin reads:

“Where the confederate flag still flies, we have built a powerful coalition of African Americans and white Americans”

This line came from Barack Obama’s race speech defending crazy Reverend Wright at the Constitution Center in 2008.

Seems a bit hypocritical to slam the Confederate flag as a symbol of racism and demand it be taken down from government buildings or property, all the while having co-opted the flag as part of a campaign, doesn’t it?

Shouldn’t Obama, for the sake of principle, make an apology for using this “highly offensive” symbol and hurting the delicate feelings of American citizens?

And who should apologize to me who have relatives die in Andersonville, motherfucker? Don't seem like much of a symbol of that bit of shame of the south. But it is.

Who is going to apologize to the southerners who's relatives died the the prison camp in Chicago which was just as bad as Andersonville and had a policy of killing black Confederates upon arrival?

mnottertail -> RE: South Carolina to Pull Confederate Flag (6/25/2015 2:08:08 PM)

That didnt happen. You might cough up a credible citation, which you havent got, regarding Camp Douglas. I agree there was a smallpox epidemic, and conditions were not good, but noth like the toothless cretinous southern filth that ran Andersonville.

Only if your daft enough to equate picketing a bigot's house for being a bigot (a matter of choice) to lynching a black man for being a black man (not a matter of choice).

The bottom line is this: thirty-eight years (exactly, as it turns out) as a symbol for equal rights does not equate to over one hundred and fifty years as a symbol of racist hatred. Any attempts to equate the two are bullshit.

mnottertail -> RE: South Carolina to Pull Confederate Flag (6/25/2015 2:31:50 PM)

Symbols are symbols of a cause, lets keep that in mind, and all the rightwing horseshit and equivocation can stop.

Intimidation is intimidation. And your whole post is based on the arrogant idea that anyone who disagrees with you is a bigot. So you think intimidation of political opponents is legitimate, that makes you an extremist.

mnottertail -> RE: South Carolina to Pull Confederate Flag (6/25/2015 2:45:43 PM)

So, after some 150 years of confederate flag intimidation...............what is it you are trying to say?

Ah, so the point is understandable. Crazy is having real problems today. I enjoy it though. I always love to see leftist hate on display. I encourage it. Perhaps someday it will help a person understand what not to do.
