"The war" was a continuation of Gulf War I, and W went in under the same premise that allowed Bill Clinton to bomb Iraq, the UN resolutions following Iraqs invasion of Kuwait

As well as Husseins' blatant cease fire agreement violations following that conflict

Never mind the 99% of Dems in Congress backing the action by vote at the time... Including Hillary

Your post is bullshit, more so given the fact Lucy posted links on the stance taken by the UN.

Lucy posted quotes from one far left politician at the UN

If liberating the people of Iraq was such a huge war crime, why did Hillary vote to do it

AND AGAIN
I SAID
It was brought into law by Clinton cos he was the next pres...oh he may have thought it was for the best at the time, but that isnt the point.
The transparency wasnt there.

Its got FUCK all with preventing it..liking it or fighting for it. its to do with the fact that there WAS NO transparency to the public.
get over yourself.

It wasn't there? It was almost a year before Congress and the President signed it into law. Did no one really know what was in it? I'm sure the elected representatives in the Federal Government knew what was in it, or at least had some level of knowledge about it.

Check it out....

Before it was signed by Clinton...

Cheering on the passage of NAFTA by Congress (may I remind you that it was a Democrat-led Congress (both chambers)?).

http://www.chomsky.info/articles/199303--.htm

Noam Chomsky knew, and wrote about it months about 8 months before Congress ratified it.

This out before Bush signed it!

http://www.epi.org/publication/epi_virlib_briefingpapers_1992_effecto/

The EPI knew about it before it was signed by Bush, too...

http://www.upi.com/Archives/1992/08/12/Key-elements-in-NAFTA-free-trade-pact/4543320331902/

So did UPI...

You're right. It wasn't transparent. It was covered up and passed in the dead of night.

I have posted several, from the CIA, from the DIA for many years and you have ignored them. You can pretend, but yours is the bullshit.

FR

More on the Obama administration transparency - turns out that Inspectors General are independent from the tone of transparency set by this Commander-In-Chief

quote:

DOJ asked to probe handling of Clinton's emails: NYT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department is weighing a request by two government inspectors general to open a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information in Hillary Clinton's private emails from when she was secretary of state, according to a report in the New York Times.

A Justice Department official confirmed the department received a criminal referral but gave no other details. The Times said the department had not decided whether to pursue a criminal inquiry, citing unnamed government officials.

The Times originally reported that Clinton herself was a target of the criminal referral. It altered its report on its website overnight without explanation to suggest she was not the focus of the referral after all.

In a memo early on Friday, inspectors general at the State Department raised concerns about the handling of classified information in the emails and the adequacy of the classified network used to store and distribute the emails from Clinton, sent while she was the nation's most senior diplomat.

The memo does not directly accuse Clinton of mishandling sensitive information. Clinton is the leading Democratic contender for the 2016 presidential election.

Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement she "followed appropriate practices in dealing with classified materials."

Yahoo, the best investigative reporting on the planet, next to Faux, Breitbart, Drudge, ZeroHedge, the Sun Myung Moon Times, and other rightwing propaganda organs.

It would be important to say that Reuters article is reprinted by Yahoo, an English news organization going back to the mid-1800's having absolutely nothing to do with the GOP other than reporting as far as I can see.

You must be really thick to belive that, considering the wealth of what intel, eminating from official sources no less, was given to Bush and Blair re wmds.

I ask was it that they lied or were they fed incomplete and/or false intel (an I know of no way to prove it one way or the other and I have worked in the intel community) to base their public opinions upon. Just askin I will agree that regardless they were responsible because the intell staff works for the Pres, just like the various departments work for Obama. I think it was truman that had "the buck stops here" on his desk. Applies to all in any administration. The top is ultimately responsible. I know that if they were mislead heads should have rolled all the way down the chain of the command to the problem person.

If you truly worked in intel, it wouldnt be hard for you to do some research on the subject. I have posted quotes from those involved in the matter on numerous threads and it gets tiring having to remind people what your own President, among others, said.

Yup like I said the intel was wrong. Yup, he still thought it was a good idea. Yup, regardless the buck stopped with him. Least that is what I gleaned from the article.

You missed the main bit, widely available on the net....... The security services (UK and USA) knew the intel was dubious and stated as much, the politicians decided to run with it anyway.

All intel is dubious at best. Unless you physically go and see it, which is what an invasion is.

Why have so many al-Queda been killed with drones on that dubious intel, with nobody there to invade? Cuban Missles? Dubious??? Osama bin Laden killed on dubious intel? Saddam captured on dubious intel?
