According to leftists?

Political beliefs
Voting record
Religion
Gender
Color
Sexual orientation
Whether you live in a red state or a blue state

I am sure I missed several...

A lot has been made about Chik-Fil-A and other businesses, where the owner has some deeply held beliefs.

The PPLs have done everything they can to drive them out of business which seems awfully mean-spirited to me.

That said, I heard something, the other day that is very relevant. Unfortunately, I don't remember the person's name but during the interview, they identified as homosexual and they said: "We should be free from interference from the religious right in our lives, but they should be also free from interference from us, into their lives".

I thought it was spot-on.

You forgot the biggest one: business is prohibited from operating in 'right to work' states. Remember when Boeing tried to open that facility in South Carolina? If the unions can't force people to turn a chunk of their paychecks over to them, how will the Democrats get funding?

Real0ne -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 12:18:33 AM)

That too broad of a stroke for me to comment one way or the other. yes no

MrRodgers -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 12:51:12 AM)

Tough question on whether any business should be banned based either on ownership's morality as reflected by one's religious dogma or fighting such prohibitions where constitutionally one is empowered to conduct business in accordance with the morality of one's cultural business dogma such as a maximized profit.

Now I could also add, that fight has been won. Otherwise, where would the repubs get their funding ?

Not at all unlike the boycot of the "Dixie Chicks"

Yet you support those who would interfere with their lives.

A local mayor recently wanted to put a moratorium on restaurants with drive-thrus until the city could finish their long-term development plan later this year. The idea was nixed by the city council unanimously, citing concerns for property rights.

It seemed like a perfectly good idea at the time, considering a new highway project would be opening soon, and the city was trying to lure industrial jobs into the area.

There are concerns to address with any business. Environmental impact, traffic impact, impact on local crime, and other NIMBY effects.

Zoning laws may require certain businesses be located a minimum distance away from a church or school.

Obviously, some businesses aren't legal in every city or state.

Religion shouldn't be an issue for business owners, as long as they're willing to follow local laws & ordinances. Otherwise, they'll be facing possible fines & lawsuits. If a company has a history of these issues elsewhere, the city may take a closer look at allowing them to build in their town, though concerns over property rights may force a decision in favor of the business regardless.

Wal-Mart seems to draw attention when they build, almost anywhere anymore, though I think it's rare that they're not allowed to build, after necessary steps have been taken.

Of course, if the business plans to lease the space, the owner of the property will decide whether or not to rent the space to them based on their own lawful reasoning.

Lucylastic -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 4:32:50 AM)

OP???
Who is banning companies?
what company has been banned?

KenDckey -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 6:59:15 AM)

The question is more of a general one than aimed at any specific governmental/private entity. We have discussed specifics in other threads. I was just trying to get a feel of the overall consensus.

Lucylastic -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 7:05:13 AM)

LOL no we havent, we havent seen any company being banned for religion, or "moral" beliefs.
Make your questions more succinct if you want to be taken seriously

Sanity -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 7:15:22 AM)

What a conveniently short memory you have

Theres Chik-fil-A, who leftists tried to destroy. The mom n pop pizzeria whose religious beliefs interfered with catering gay weddings, who leftists shut down...

Thats without getting into the history of leftists in other places around the globe. Include that sort of thing and I would be here all day and still just barely scratch the surface

KenDckey -> RE: Business should be banned based upon (8/30/2015 7:29:10 AM)

I did find one business supported by a British Celeb that needs to never be allowed to open.

Euthanasia Vans for old people. That be anyone over 25 (just ask most young people)
