Marini -> Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/29/2015 9:43:28 PM)

Is the atmosphere down here in the Dungeon of Political and Religious Discussions, becoming more hostile, adversarial and combative?

Lately, when I glance through most threads on here, I witness more name calling and attacking, then any discussions with substance.

Anyone else noticing this or is it just my imagination?

This thread may be shut down, but I really wanted to ask this question.
I have been on CollarMe/CollarSpace, 10 years, on the message boards for at least 7, and it seems very hostile down here.

It is one of the reasons, I often don't post or hang around down here for long.

PLEASE don't start attacking on this thread, or start that same down partisian bullchit.
You have EVERY other thread on here, to do the pissing, moaning, finger pointing and attacking BS.

This country and the world are at a precipice in history.
I have always said the world could be coming to an end, and people would be on these boards, pointing fingers and blaming it on the "other side".

Seriously, at what point do the issues at hand, matter MORE than this crazy, stupid partisian bickering?

I have issues with BOTH political parties, and I have had these issues for over 20 years, and it is often comical to watch the jokesters down here point fingers.

Can't you see we all are being screwed by both sides?
I think many of the politicians on BOTH sides, get away with way too much, because the common folks are so distracted with partisian crap.
Damn, get a clue.

BOTH political parties in America, can share the blame for most of what is wrong in this country.

Just because some people do not agree with me does not make this a hostile place. It is more honest with the new rules and I find that refreshing. Politics and Religion will always inspire a lively debate because of deep feelings and opposing opinions.

I think it is important to remember that it is hard to be objective when in an argument or debate and most often useless to think you can change the mind of the person you are debating with.... But... Others that read the debate may change their minds.

It takes a strong person with tough skin to debate here but no one is making us type collar chat.

I am talking about the way many people talk to each other on here.

If you don't see it, so be it.

Many people DO see it.

I most certainly CAN take it, I have big girl panties, and this place pales to real life.

It's just an interesting phenomenon, I have been meaning to comment on for a few months.

The anger, the insults, the name-calling, the vitrolic air and dialogue.

kdsub -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/29/2015 10:49:17 PM)

I see no one complaining but you. I don't mean that disrespectfully just truthfully. If people do not like this forum they will not come here... In this it is self regulating.

bye bye to you butch.
My point was well made, as usual I am not going to spar with you.

This forum is not suited for you then... Talking honestly and truthfully is not sparing. I don't call you names or speak in vile terms...I simply often do not agree with you... And you cannot seem to deal with people who disagree with your vision of the world. Personally I want to hear opposing views and often learn from them.

Marini -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/29/2015 11:00:35 PM)

blah blah blah

"this forum is not suited for you", who are you to tell me what is suited for me?

This thread is about this forum, not specifically about me or anyone else.

Goodbye

Whom my dear is being unpleasant and vile now? I earnestly try to address your question and am faced with hypocrisy

To the extent that the people at large and especially those who would seem to care the most and still do little or nothing to change the status quo and as a direct result are so continually distracted as to bring no meaningful effect, this forum and all other forums like it...are working just as they are suppose to.

Sports, entertainment, less or with the exception of the best of the performing arts, entrenched political dogmas wholly without any objectivity, are to be distracting to no real effect on what the real powers are and their goals irrespective of political party affiliation or sympathies.

For example. one can rant all they wish about economic inequality, global warming, political correctness, the so-called welfare state to the obvious omission of those whose welfare is benefiting from it and among almost any number of additional subjects or so-called issues, yet...rant is the goal, change isn't. There you have the meaty substance of Internet discussions.

The moronic, intellectual vacuousness of most populations (and forum boards)...is legion. Far too many even falling prey to the Orwellian prerequisite...changing the meaning of words.

Maybe this and other boards too are becoming more vitriolic and maybe that's a good thing rather then as opposed to 'taking it to the streets' as it were. But just as in the past when without such electronic/digital flexibilities where all issues/politics really were local, one can be trusted in being correct and somewhat successful with the occasional small victory, even those that do make the mainstream media, yet nothing of any real substantive change, will occur.

What happens as exemplified by Ken (another OP) and including myself, being of an age that the future is now, it is the young who had better not remain so distracted because it is going to get a whole lot worse and not 'before it gets better' because [it] isn't getting any better.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 2:10:54 AM)

It's hard to take this thread seriously. There's an entire group of people, here, that will accuse their "adversaries" of the most vile things just to "win an argument"; the OP being someone I've had on "hide" for about two years for doing just that to me.

Hello, Pot. Have you met the Kettle?

That's the second time you've said good bye.

Was the first one a flirty "chase me" good bye?

Is this one a real good bye?

crazyml -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 3:05:23 AM)

I think it's important to remember what the P&R sections on sites like this are actually for.

Their only purpose is to prevent the other parts of the board being infected by madwags.

These sections are simply madwag bait, and the rest of the board benefits.

Lucylastic -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 4:31:28 AM)

Yes it is being more combative, and will remain as such and get much worse, until the mods come back.
Then there will be a round of bannings, and bye to some of them(yes Im including myself here)
If the mods are new, gawd only knows what will happen.
Im not bothered either way.
Yes I voted Frankly my dear I dont give a damn.

kdsub -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 5:08:41 AM)

I do agree with you that this is a good place to express frustrations. You can say here what you would be hesitant to say outside of these boards. You can get it out of your system and often find others in agreement. But just as important you may come to understand where you are wrong...or at least understand better the other side of an argument.

The op often expresses her fustrations but needs to understand others have the same right and no matter how much she thinks her position right others may strongly disagree.

KenDckey -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 6:56:29 AM)

and th name calling really does need to stop. doesn't help anyone's position and in my opinion detracts from it.

Lucylastic -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 7:02:29 AM)

ANd yet you keep calling cloudboy and others names...worse you think its amusing to pretend that you are somehow superior to male submissives
You sure as hell arent.

kdsub -> RE: Is the Political/Religious Discussion board becoming more combative? (8/30/2015 7:28:05 AM)

It is a personal choice how feelings are expressed... I have been called names plenty of times, and at times deservedly so, but with or without name calling the same ideas are conveyed. Otherwise I don't care how people express themselves just so long as they are honest in there opinions. There are people i don't particularly like on these boards because of their way of expressing themselves... but i can and do still respect them for their honesty and earnestness in defending their convictions, right or wrong.

Then there are the ones who I have no respect for and I just do not interact with them...simple. I also understand that my convictions may cause me to lose the respect of some and i respect their right to ignore me. I wish it were not so but this is life...I am what I am.

Really? you gotta show me that one. Calling him BOY is nothing more than using his screen name. Just like anyone could call me DCKEY. I don't see that as offensive any more than calling you Lucy.

I do hope that anyone who believes that he's superior to me, as a malesub, understands the benefits of keeping quiet about that particular view. [:)]
