ORIGINAL: MrRodgers To the extent that the people at large and especially those who would seem to care the most and still do little or nothing to change the status quo and as a direct result are so continually distracted as to bring no meaningful effect, this forum and all other forums like it...are working just as they are suppose to. Sports, entertainment, less or with the exception of the best of the performing arts, entrenched political dogmas wholly without any objectivity, are to be distracting to no real effect on what the real powers are and their goals irrespective of political party affiliation or sympathies. For example. one can rant all they wish about economic inequality, global warming, political correctness, the so-called welfare state to the obvious omission of those whose welfare is benefiting from it and among almost any number of additional subjects or so-called issues, yet...rant is the goal, change isn't. There you have the meaty substance of Internet discussions. The moronic, intellectual vacuousness of most populations (and forum boards)...is legion. Far too many even falling prey to the Orwellian prerequisite...changing the meaning of words. Maybe this and other boards too are becoming more vitriolic and maybe that's a good thing rather then as opposed to 'taking it to the streets' as it were. But just as in the past when without such electronic/digital flexibilities where all issues/politics really were local, one can be trusted in being correct and somewhat successful with the occasional small victory, even those that do make the mainstream media, yet nothing of any real substantive change, will occur. What happens as exemplified by Ken (another OP) and including myself, being of an age that the future is now, it is the young who had better not remain so distracted because it is going to get a whole lot worse and not 'before it gets better' because [it] isn't getting any better. [/quo I agree Mr.Rodgers, many rather engage in the partisan attacks, while the country slips down the toilet. I agree it can be a distraction for many, but not for all.
